Lindsey Buckingham is a playing a black Deering 5-string banjo in The Dance for "Say You Love Me" (at 51:50). I'm having trouble finding a black Deering banjo dating to 1997, though. Are there any banjo-versed users here who could give me any leads?

Are the Laney LA100BL and the 100W Supergroup the same amp?
Speaking of Daptone, their Harrison MR4 console us on reverb but I have a bad feeling it'll need a lot of work if they decommissioned it. It's not priced all that well for a less popular Harrison model.
Really? Where? All I could find was their Trident 65.
EDIT: Apparently Portugal. The Man is seeking [EDIT: typo, should be “selling”] a decommissioned MR4, too.

Are the Laney LA100BL and the 100W Supergroup the same amp?
Is that the owner of Sterling or one of the other mastering engineers?
He has a YouTube Channel in his signature if you’d like to see.
but prefer to work with Jeff Lipton
Ah, your buddy! I just saw his name attached to a Daptone record last week: Reigning Sound’s Shattered.
I think the BL stands for bass and lead because the 2 halves of v1 (each half is a channel with its own volume and they sum at the next stage) is biased up and bypassed totally independently whereas shared cathodes both channels are the same apart from coupling and bright caps which come after the tube and form crude high pass filters.
BL may have also distinguished from the PA models.

Are the Laney LA100BL and the 100W Supergroup the same amp?
I hope I got this right. I know the pre supergroup amps are the same as the supergroup amps, it really is just a plexi knockoff with different components.
I think you’re right. The amps look identical on the outside, too.
The first circuit change I know of at laney is the Klip series which is meant to fo iommi without an external boost.
The irony of that is that Iommi doesn’t like the Klipps. I just read that today in a Total Guitar interview:
“With our last album [2013’s 13] Rick Rubin wanted it to sound like the early days and he said, ‘Can you get any of your original amps?’ It was 50 years ago - where are we going to store amps for 50 years? We arrive in the studio and they’ve got a rack full of amps in there and I said to the engineer, ‘What’s all this?’
“He said, ‘Rick ordered them.’ ‘Why?’ All these old vintage Marshalls and about three Laney Klipp amps, which I had never used but he assumed I had. So I got in there and said, ‘I don’t need these.’ But he said Rick’s ordered them, so at least give them a try. I tried them and I didn’t like them. I said to Rick, ‘Just because they’re vintage amps, it doesn’t mean they sound good.’
“So we had this little thing about what we should sound like. He even phoned this bloke up who he said knew how to get my sound. I said: ‘I’m the one who got the sound. Why were you calling someone else about how to get my sound?’ In the end I used my own amp that I designed [TI 100]. Not the new ones - I wish I’d had those then.”

Are the Laney LA100BL and the 100W Supergroup the same amp?
I believe they're the same amp, which is a 100 watt superlead circuit equipped with partridge transformers like hiwatt used. The old ones go by various designations. I think the supergroup tag came in later. I'm not sure about the reissues.
Very well, then. A duplicate item has been submitted for these, with Jim's item to be kept. I also changed its image from the reissue to a vintage unit.

Are the Laney LA100BL and the 100W Supergroup the same amp?
I'm pretty sure the entry for LA100BL is for the 1960s original and the 100-watt Supergroup refer to the contemporary reissue run.
That's just it. The 100-watt Supergroup item (submitted by our fellow moderator jimmarchi1) "about 9 years ago" predates the reissue. Moreover, we already have a separate item for the reissue (submitted by rnfnr "almost 8 years ago"). The "LA 100 BL" item was submitted by ahmed_abdelazim "about 8 years ago".
I think we would need Jim to weigh in.

Are the Laney LA100BL and the 100W Supergroup the same amp?
We currently have two separate items for the LA100BL and the 100-watt Supergroup head, but are they really just the same amp? Moreover, I haven't found much literature predating the limited reissue that refers to the "pre-Supergroup" amps as "LA100BL": is that a later term re-popularized by the reissue?
BONUS: Does anyone know a primary or secondary source that clarifies whether or not Tony Iommi used a 60-watt Laney head for Black Sabbath and Paranoid? I've found a couple of tertiary sources (here and here), but neither is reliable.

Even more (to be explored) on Beckett’s website: Videos (one of the 1970s videos may show a CE-1 Chorus Ensemble, not sure), Interviews, Interview Archive (a lot of these need the Wayback Machine to be viewed; the ones in text don’t mention any gear besides an unspecified digital recorder. There is a quote at the top of the page about his gear, but it’s not sourced).

I did Jake McMurchie stuff.
Woohoo!
There are pictures that are in a studios, so most likely not his stuff, so I wasn't sure about that one.
Yeah, that account starts out as a shared one for Michelson Morley. One would need to study the other members of the band.

Hey, meb! This is just the formatting for item pages that are stubs (no gear rank from lack of traffic, ratings or links to retailers). You can still click on the brand name next to “Manufacturer” to get to the brand page.

Anyone into Godin guitars? I am!
Admittedly, I know very little about Godin. However, the name sounds like a Norse god (rhymes with Odin), which automatically makes it sound awesome.
I know that Paolo Tofani had a Multiac AS. Learning about that was my first exposure to the company. An acoustic-electric nylon guitar like that is rare and thus impressive!

New Artists Signature Fender Guitar Models
FWIW, I'm not much of a Cars fan, I just put Ric on the list because his Jazzmaster is @#$%ing great.
If Fender issued this black-on-pink Jazzmaster as a higher-end Squire model, like they did with J Mascis, I'd buy one:
That is pretty snazzy.

New Artists Signature Fender Guitar Models
I would add:
- Nels Cline to Jazzmaster - Fender even wrote an article on his vintage one!
- Keith Urban to Telecaster - He ordered a Telecaster from the Fender Custom Shop in 2009; he sold Telecasters in a custom graphic finish at his shows in 2011(!); he did a two-part video series with Fender on the Telecaster (Part 1, Part 2); Nicole Kidman bought him Waylon Jennings' Broadcaster; and he replaced the neck of a Stratocaster with that of his Cabronita Telecaster.
- Mdou Moctar to Stratocaster

Looking to build up Gear IQ? Here is a plethora of unsubmitted gear
In late 2020 and mid-2021, I posted five threads compiling what became an exhausting amount of gear sources. If you're up for the challenge, y'all can parse and collate them accordingly.
If anyone has any similar postponed projects, I encourage you to share them that so that A) newer users can have some material to submit and/or B) we can work on them together.

Equipboard actually used to have this broader scope. Any celebrity or item was covered, regardless of industry. You can still find some of those early items floating around on the site, like two of Kendrick Lamar's shirts (here and here). Eventually, however, Michael and Guilio Chiarenza (Equipboard's co-founders) decided it would be more conducive to focus just on music equipment. Here is an old interview of Michael from back when Equipboard was still in that prior incarnation. At this other link we have an early pitch of the musical Equipboard for investors (which, ironically, has a picture of Kim Kardashian in one of the infographics).

On the point of the guidelines, by what you saying, its like calling Kim Kardashian an "Artist" cause she have notability? Or calling a Chef somebody who cooks on instagram and have notability. Portraying any guy as an Artist is like putting him in the same category as Tony Iommi or Idk, Page or May or whatever.

This misuse of the word is taking away the real value from what it means to be an Artist.
I feel similarly about "content creators". "Content" is so nebulously vague.

Suggestions for redesigning our Product Pages
I like the overall direction this is headed, especially that fact that there's more breathing room/less clutter up above the fold.
Granular notes on the Sidebar:
(you're free to ignore these, of course, I'm just one jerk among thousands)
Listing the Price Tier Category in the sidebar seems redundant, IMHO... better to make the sidebar even cleaner. The price range is right there above it, either that price range is too expensive for the person viewing or it's not. I get why you're applying these tier categories now, but where you have it in full detail above retailer comparisons feels like the right place to introduce the concept.
"We compare 600+ plus stores..." isn't necessary to mention, better to make the sidebar even cleaner. Whatever you're really doing here, Google is likely doing way more, without having to explain what's going on. Google this same MXR M169, they'll give you over 100 stores with stocking info, price + shipping, etc... EB is only ever going to list the affiliate stores, right?... this is totally fine, just maybe not necessary to try and sell what's going on. It's self-explanatory.
Good points!
- The SAVE button has always seemed kind of odd to me. I only ever want to do 2 things 1. Add to my Wishlist or 2. Add to my Equipboard. Every time I go to add something to my board or wishlist, I have to remind myself that the "Save" button with the bookmark icon is where this action lives. Having 2 buttons here, instead of one, would be better, I think: one dedicated to Wishlist and one for adding to your own Equipboard. For users who haven't signed up yet, this reinforces how Equipboard works... on top of the uniqueness of getting to build your own EB, the Wishlist here is rad too: on Amazon you can't build a wishlist with vintage or direct-only stuff, only new stuff... on Reverb(dot)com the favorites are more for keeping tabs on items you might want to put in an offer on... so EB is my one true gear Wishlist.
I second this. It made more sense when it was separated into "Have" and "Want".

Suggestions for redesigning our Product Pages
Looking good! However, with my prior feedback intact,
1) More orange, please!
2) I wouldn't dress the curated items as "Recommended for you", which implies that it is algorithmically curated to the user's browsing history on the site. A most [EDIT: I meant to say more] compelling (and technologically honest) title would be something along the lines "User-Curated Alternatives"
3.1) I still think that Artists should be the first thing under the overview, with reviews (gorgeous layout, by the way!) second. 3.2) Maybe there could be separate sub-tabs for Artists and Reviews, with Artists as the default?
4) Available stores could be condensed. Whether that be in two columns or not.
5) I'm not sure the most recent editor needs to be displayed on the main page.
6) Bring back the article ribbon icon!

I'd say that in this case, Steve Reis of Does It Doom? has enough public awareness to merit an Equipboard page. In fact, I just added one of his company's pedals to the site the other day.
YouTubers are fine to add as long as they meet the usual notability guidelines; the same goes for anyone submitted to Equipboard under the role "Podcasters & Streamers". In fact, one of the gauges in those guidelines is "The artist is an influencer in a specialized channel (e.g. a YouTube personality with followers in the 5-7 figure range)." As of writing (July 3, 2024), Does It Doom? has over 85.4K subscribers, so he passes that gauge.
Now, not every prominent YouTuber is going to apply. Under the gauge "The artist has amassed a large social media following", there is an important note: "This by itself does not constitute notability, since a sizable social media following can easily be faked." Furthermore, generally speaking, musicians are prioritized for the site, so I wouldn't go adding many let's-players, makeup tutors, or video essayists. Do also consider whether or not the YouTuber has any obvious equipment or sufficient sources about his/her equipment. Otherwise, he/she is likely not going to get much mileage on the site, rendering the submission moot. For example, an animated "VTuber" will probably not get much mileage.
