Description

Unleash the vibrant soundscapes of Karanyi Sounds Abstract Marimba, a meticulously crafted Kontakt instrument that bridges the gap between traditional and contemporary music production. Designed in collaboration with Nandor Weisz, a celebrated percussionist from the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, this plugin reimagines the marimba with an avant-garde twist. Whether you're scoring a film, producing electronic beats, or crafting jazz grooves, the Abstract Marimba offers a rich palette of sounds that are as versatile as they are inspiring.

At its core, this instrument features a unique blend of acoustic purity and synthesized depth. Recorded in a dry studio environment in Budapest, the Adams Concert Marimba is captured using three mic positions to ensure every transient detail is highlighted. The library includes six marimba articulations with a variety of sticks and an additional brush layer, allowing for dynamic expression across four velocity layers.

Beyond the traditional, the Abstract Marimba expands its sonic potential with 15 extra analogue synthesizer sublayers, sampled from iconic Oberheim and Dave Smith synthesizers. This fusion creates a lush soundscape perfect for tremolo beds and fast sequences. The intuitive interface comes with 17 GUI controls, each MIDI learnable, giving you the flexibility to tailor every sound to your precise needs.

Key Features:

  • 6+1 marimba articulations with soft, medium, hard sticks + brush layer
  • 15 analogue synthesizer sublayers from Oberheim & Dave Smith synths
  • 3 mic positions (Close, Mid) recorded with Shure SM57 & AT35

  • 50 Kontakt presets: 24 Traditional Marimba & 26 Soundscapes
