Line 6 Variax 300 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Line 6 Variax 300 is a budget-friendly digital modeling guitar that offers impressive versatility for studio and live use. It retains the same modeling engine as its pricier predecessors, the Variax 500 and 700, but cuts costs with simpler construction and materials, like an agathis body. While it shines with a range of upgraded sounds and is particularly strong in delivering accurate clean tones, the guitar itself feels ordinary. The XPS-Mini power supply lacks the flexibility of higher models, and there's no nylon string acoustic option. Despite these drawbacks, the Variax 300 remains a compelling choice for musicians seeking a diverse array of guitar tones without breaking the bank.

What a turkey!!

I was really pleased with this guitar for about a year; the models worked well and sounded great and the guitar itself played really well. Then the first saddle went, then the second. Line 6 were no help - no replacements available as they now have 'newer' models; no back support. Call me old fashioned, but I don't consider musical instruments to be disposable. I am thinking of stripping the guitar and turning it into a project.
