Average sampler in Logic Pro
I have this in Logic Pro but I also have Kontakt and Falcon and most recently Halion 6 so I tend to use these instead of Logic's own sampler but it is perfectly useable.

Great sampler
The fact that this is built right into Logic Pro is just amazing. I use EXS24 and Logic Pros default samples for orchestra mainly, but all of the samples are great. It can also load soundfonts with ease - and I use it over more expensive solutions like Kontakt 5. I love my EXS24

"I’ve been able to sample some of those keyboards into [Apple Logic Pro sampler] EXS24, but I also usually layer those sounds with a synth on top to give more meat to the sounds. So, it’s a mix, and I try and update the sounds so I’m not just slavishly recreating the records as they were. I try to push things even further, and make the sounds even punchier. Sometimes I even change them radically. I can go back to those original synths, but I want to be pushing forward all the time. It’s always been about creating the most amazing sounds. The only live mic on stage with us is my vocal mic, so we can get a pristine sound. We don’t have monitors, so it’s a completely silent stage, apart from the drummer tapping on his pads!"
The software tools within Logic X that I most often use include: NI Komplete (the whole suite and samplers), NI Massive, VPS Metrum (To make kicks), Logic’s ES2, EXS24, Xfer plugins (like LFO Tool), Sylenth1, FabFilter Pro Suite, EW/QL Symphonic Samples, Voxengo SPAN, iZotope Ozone (Just for analysis, not for actual processing).
What software are you using in Logic?
"I love what Native Instruments do and you can't go wrong with Komplete. I love using Massive and Kontakt, they get used every single day. Omnisphere is massive for me as well, but the only other thing I'll use is Logic's built-in EXS24 sampler, which is a godsend for programming all my drums."
"My desktop Mac is an eight?core Intel with 8GB of memory, and I have Apogee Ensemble for going in and out of the computer, and Brent Averill BAE 1272 and BAE 312A preamps, plus a Universal Audio 1176 compressor. Almost everything I track goes through the 312A, then the 1176 and into the computer. Everything else is done in the box. My master keyboard is a Roland A37, my monitors are the Adam 7s, and I recently acquired an Adam Sub 8 bass speaker. My room has some acoustic treatment, with stuff above my head and in front of me. I also have a large selection of analogue keyboards, organs, Moogs, ARPs. I love these things and I have about everything from the '60s and '70s. I've sampled many of them in Logic's EXS24 sampler, so I have a bunch of unusual and imperfect?sounding sounds that I can use for writing and arranging.”
In an Instagram story, Vegyn stated that he uses Logic's EXS24 Sampler on the album "Diamonds," as shown in the image provided.
Unsurprisingly, then, he doesn’t use soft synths and favours using his own sample library in Logic’s EXS24. Plug–in–wise, he finds he continually returns to the PSP range and the Universal Audio UAD1 card.
For his sampling needs, Marius tends to use Logic Audio’s EXS24 sampler for simple jobs, deferring to Native Instruments’ Kontakt when a more complicated task is being undertaken. “The Logic sampler is a mainstay for a lot of my projects – because it’s simple and it does what it says on the tin. I’d go to Logic every time for straightforward sample playback. It’s less memory intensive and quicker than Kontakt, which is, however, fantastic for more sophisticated procedures. Kontakt is a far more serious instrument in terms of sample layout and manipulation, and offers much more sophisticated filtering and processing.”
