Made from 100% North American maple, the drums from the Downbeat series from the Classic Maple series produce the typical, well-known, percussive and unique sound. Sound that has made Ludwig the best-known and most popular brand worldwide. The standard equipment includes A. T. L. A. S. hardware parts, such as tom rosettes and legs, large "Classic Lugs" lugs, bass drum hoops made of wood with color inlays and original Ludwig "Weather Master" heads. Ludwig Classic Maple A Custom Solution for the Discerning Player The Ludwig Classic Maple series is the top product from the drum makers from Monroe. The shell is made of 7 layers of maple, which are glued and shaped using the RFST molding process to create the to achieve optimal tonality and resonance. With often rather simple components, Ludwig always manages to build drums that produce a wonderfully warm, open tone and a sound quality that can only be explained with decades of experience.
