Description
The Pearl Dennis Chambers Signature Snare 6.5 x 14" is a masterclass in snare drum design, crafted in collaboration with the legendary drummer himself. This snare drum combines a 4-ply maple shell with 4-ply reinforcement rings, delivering a warm, resonant tone that can cut through any mix while maintaining impeccable structural integrity. The unique 10-over-8 lug configuration enhances sensitivity and expands the tuning range, allowing drummers to tailor their sound with ease.
A standout feature is the SR300 Philharmonic strainer, which offers three individually tunable 6-strand snappy wire snares. This allows for an impressive range of tonal sculpting, whether you need maximum crispness for a live performance or a more subdued sound in the studio. Complementing these premium features are the Pearl Mastercast die-cast hoops, providing exceptional projection and tuning stability.
Designed for versatility, this snare excels across a broad spectrum of genres, from funk to jazz, ensuring it’s as adaptable as Dennis Chambers' storied career. Whether you're laying down a solid backbeat or exploring intricate ghost notes, this snare delivers in spades. Perfect for both studio sessions and live gigs, its professional-grade hardware ensures that it not only sounds great but is also built to last.

A typo ambiguates which snare is used. However, since this contact rider precedes the 2016 announcement of the 14 x 5" version, one can deduce the original 14 x 6.5". This is supported by the detail in Modern Drummer #395 (October 2009) that Allen's unspecified snare matches these dimensions.
Tony Allen plays Pearl Masters Custom Extra drums (6 1/2 x 14 wood snare, 12" and 14" rack toms, 16" floor tom, 22" bass drum), Zildjian cymbals (14" ZBT hi-hats, 17" A thin crash, 20" A medium ride), Pearl hardware, Remo Pinstripe batter heads, and Vic Firth or Zildjian sticks (“5B in my right hand and upside down, in my left hand—it gives a good touch," Tony says).
