Critic Reviews

Remo White Suede Heads - Mike Dolbear

mikedolbear.com

Remo's White Suede heads offer a compelling alternative to traditional coated drum heads, delivering a robust, creamy tone that many drummers will appreciate. They shine particularly on toms, providing a thick, warm sound with impressive durability. However, while the Ambassador version delivers a resonant sound, it doesn't quite match the warmth of the Emperor variant, which stands out for its controlled and less harsh attack. Overall, the White Suede series is highly recommended, especially for those tired of frequent head replacements, though players might find the single-ply Ambassadors less satisfying compared to their two-ply counterparts.

Remo White Suede Drum Heads review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Remo Ambassador White Suede drum heads offer a compelling blend of warmth and versatility, making them suitable for a broad range of musical genres. Their unique etching process enhances tonal richness and sustain, providing a noticeable upgrade over standard clear heads. While the Ambassadors deliver excellent attack and crispness, they might lack the resilience some heavy hitters seek, which could lead players to consider the dual-ply Emperors instead. Overall, these heads are a worthy investment for drummers looking to enhance their sound without sacrificing playability.
