but i never find myself actually using this thing legitimately. outside of a quick average reading

Solid replacement for Multimeter's analyzer

When I switched from Logic to Studio One, I really missed the third octave spectrum analyzer metering from Logic's multimeter plugin. Now I got that covered with AnSpec (had to play around with the integration, release, and peak hold times though, but no worries)... =D

I think Studio One's stock spectrum analyzer has third octave setting.

It does. It only shows a peak curve though. With AnSpec, you can see an analog (RMS) curve. You can then change the integration and release time of said curve. All for free, which is nice...
