I feel incredibly grateful, honored and beyond excited to share this post. Meet OLE RED, the 1953 Gibson Les Paul ‘Goldtop’ refinished in RED over the GOLD many many moons ago. I feel it is THE BEST GUITAR I have ever played. At 66 years old, she is ALIVE. The sound and feel is otherworldly, I can’t even believe it. I feel closer to the music and sound that I love. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to sling a real-deal 50s Les Paul over my shoulder. I cannot thank @lespaulforum enough for giving me the opportunity to do just that! It means the world to me and I have a feeling this axe will take BLUESPOWER to new heights never before imagined! ???? I’m freaking out!!!!
Used on the self-titled album, according to 2022 guitarguitar interview. The guitar was a gift from Charles Daughtry, one of the key people behind the Les Paul Forum.

Jared James Nichols has said in the official site of DR strings:
" If you don’t know…I play ROUGH. And these strings…they didn’t break. They kept in tune…kept staying there…kept giving me FIVE STEP BENDS with ease and letting me hold a vibrato until the end of time. And by SHOW FIVE…I said, you know what? I have to change these. I’m starting to freak out because they’re lasting WAY longer than expected. "
Which means he uses Veritas strings.

“I started working with Epiphone a little less than a year ago and they introduced me to this one, which is the 1955 Custom. It has a huge neck and it’s literally like a baseball bat neck and I love that. It has the jumbo frets so you can dig in a little more. And Leslie West from Mountain is one of my guitar heroes and he had a Les Paul Junior so this is like the marriage between a big Custom and a Junior.”

It's a little different. I use higher wattage amps when I'm touring. I use my Blackstar JJN-20, maybe I'll use one of those St James models which is a 50 watt, and I'll run those together. I'm usually running in stereo on the road.

Then I had a blue Tycobrahe octavia pedal and that was the cool one. Oh, and one other thing was a funky vibe, like a Univibe The very typical standard blues rock set up.
But what we did with this record is, I wanted to use higher wattage amps for more headroom, so I had a Blackstar Artisan 100, and then I also had a 69 Super Lead and I ran those two together, and Boy, All Mighty was that the sound? It was just so good.
