"...already an existing band on Equipboard"
Okay. I deleted the band page, so you should be able to add him as an artist now.

Looks like someone already added Black Marble as a band. http://equipboard.com/band/black-marble

Boards have gone rather quiet.
That may have been because we had a little glitch yesterday, so the activity feed wasn't being updated and emails weren't being sent. Shoulb be better now. Sorry about that.

The Death of the Electric Guitar
Good idea. Wow, "guitar tabs" is abysmal. https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=guitar%20tabs
Like you guys, I'm not completely doom and gloom, but I do recognize culture has shifted. Back in the day, it was guitarist that were mainstream culture icons. Now, it seems to be DJs and rappers that are more influential as a generalization.

The Death of the Electric Guitar
Ouch. Here's the Google search volume for "electric guitar" over time. Not good.

I Write For The Site, Is There Any Articles You Guys Would Like To See
Just to clarify, it's not that I didn't like the articles. At the time, we were trying get articles that would perform well for bringing people to Equipboard that had never heard of us and interact with the site. What we found was that most people entering in questions on google or seeing an article on facebook or twitter are much more interested in beginner levels and opinions than in technically deep. In fact, we saw that when articles got too long or technical, people would actually leave sooner than the more succinct summaries. But, that's very specific to that situation.
Just saying, as to be fair, I've given Mason specific direction to make it newbie friendly. Having said that, if you guys ever see inaccuracies, I'd like to fix it.
I actually pretty much read most of what you write because I take your opinion seriously and look for your comments specifically when trying to learn about new gear. To that end, (and now that I know a little more about Equipboard's audience's preferences), I'd love for you to write some articles for EB that we tailor to the more spec-centric crowd. Would you be interested in writing a piece on the history and model variations of tube screamers? Email me and let me know and we can discuss details.

What were some guitars you played that disappointed you?
Gibson Nighthawk. For some reason, I had it in my mind that I wanted a Gibson, but wanted something smaller than a Les Paul. Couldn't get around the shape of the neck after getting used to my strat, so ended up selling it after it collected dust in my room for about 6 months.

Ed Sheeran settles Copyright Claim
I've never really thought about the court documents lawyers use in these types of cases, but I found this interesting.

I wish I would've kept a list in digital form. Now I'm concerned I'd forget half of them.
Foals has been my favorite show within the last year.

True. Monomaniacal passion is the real key to everything.

Metallica's website says Kirk uses the TC Electronic G-Major. Hope that helps!

HOW MANY HOURS A DAY SHOULD YOU PRACTICE IF YOU WANT TO BE PROFESIONAL
Anders Ericsson studies how to effectively practice skill acquisition. Admittedly, I'm a nerd, but I find his research fascinating.
Here's someone doing a cliff notes version on YouTube.

TL;DR - Focus on deliberately improving your weaknesses in playing coupled with immediate feedback.

Yeah. I definitely read it that way too. Just wish the site hadn't crashed. We had record traffic yesterday with 41K visits, many of which took place during the Grammys. Seems Ed Sheeran and Gary Clark Jr pages were both hit a bunch yesterday. Surprise, surprise.
To be clear, I'm a fan of Reverb. In fact, many of the people that work at Reverb are also on Equipboard, which I think is super cool. We've bought and sold things on Reverb, and as far as I'm concerned the more people that are interested in music the better.
Good stuff! I guess I'll get back to building Chewie Monstas now....

I guess no publicity is bad publicity?
However, a lot of people think we manufacturer the Chewie II based on all the emails I'm getting. Fun.
Reminds me of when we got the hug of death from Deadmau5.

Nice. The melody and sweeping low end pairing remind me a bit of The Chrystal Method.

Really? That's awesome! Do you remember the episode?
I watched him film an episode from NAMM in 2014.

Studio Monitors-Any Recommendations?
I haven't used these yet, but this seems to be a great deal on a product from a trusted company with great reviews. Klipsch R14-M
If that's not interesting to you, check out the guide to our favorite monitors here. My personal vote from these would be the KRKs or Yamahas for your price range.

Fender Frontman 15R. I spent all my money on the guitar, so this is what I picked up. Honestly, I probably made the decision purely based on the fact that it had a Fender logo on it and was less than $100 new. Guitars are just so much more fun to fondle than amps when you are uneducated and young...

Is there an online guitar lesson?
Here's Equipboard's take on online lessons. http://equipboard.com/posts/online-guitar-lessons
One thing I would say is that since the internet makes all types of content immediately available, the biggest hurdle to overcome in learning the instrument is personal discipline. Point being, do whatever you need to do to maintain interest and keep practicing. I recommend trying each option you are considering, as many instructors and websites offer free lessons and trials.
Good luck in finding whatever method works best for your son!

That is great. Can't wait to hear the finished version if this is the work in progress. Keep it up!

Anybody found any new artists recently
Not sure if this counts as new since the band has been around a while, but Black Pistol Fire released a new album I find myself listening to often. It is called Don't Wake the Riot.
Also, found this guy Zeal and Ardor's Devil is Fine interesting.

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!
This is a tough call. As a general rule, we've used other reputable databases like MusicBrainz, Echonest, etc to help us determine how to structure pages. However, those are also community edited databases. Ultimately, I want to modify the pro status on EB.

Yeah, we're fine. Safe and sound in Austin. Thanks for the kind thoughts.
I'm personally in shock at the state of my nation though. Just my opinion, but it is disgusting how Americans are treating each other these days, and the polarization of media and politics is abhorrent. It seems this is perhaps more of a global phenomenon than isolated here. We all have some serious issues to work through.
I choose to be an optimist, and think this is only a temporary blip on a trend toward generally more peaceful and prosperous times, but I do get really angry at times.
Anyway, sorry for the rant, and I sincerely appreciate the thoughts. :) Sending good vibes everyone's way!

a tubescreamer is always greener on the other side of the stage.... read on
Nothing! It sucks. All my money (and then some) seems to go to my wife/kids.
I have had my eye on a TS808, TS9, OCD, or Big Muff for a long time now.
I'm also debating waiting until I can upgrade my amp. I want to look at an Tiny Terror and AC15, since those are more in line with what I play now that I'm old (Less punk and more blues with age). :)
Advice?
