Alright everyone, we just launched a redesigned homepage IF you're logged in.

So the biggest things we tried to do was 1) make it viewable on all screen sizes and 2) show more activity by expanding actions by default so they are easier to see.

Please take a look and let us know what you think and what revisions would help you browse or reply or moderate the site.

That's true, you can't outright delete it, but you can rename it so it appears as you'd like by hitting the edit icon next to the list name. Sorry if that isn't clear enough!

We tweaked the algorithm. Glad you noticed.

We used to track over all cumulative impressions, but that led to a bloated database and a rich getting richer effect. That’s why certain pages like Tame Impala were perpetually at the top.

Now we are updating placements based on page views over the last one week.

Honestly, most my home playing is done through a 15 watt Fender and I really love my EQD Westwood. I'm going to buy a KoT this year - hopefully, been on the waitlist two years now - and if I don't like it, at least I won't lose money. Honestly though, with my current amp, it's gonna be hard to beat my Westwood.

While I have your expert attention, what's your opinon on the Mesa Lonestar Special?

So apparently it's a Tubescreamer/Blesbreaker combo and it's gotten a lot of hype because it's Jesse Davey's company and it seems to be on a lot of blues players boards. Really curious how it compares to the something like the KoT.

Yeah, absolutely! Add it with the best description and most information you have, and we can always revise it later or merge it with another item if we learn more information about it.

Has anyone played the pedal and have any thoughts? I'm curious.

I generally tend to agree, but every now and then I find an exception.

Yeah... I'll delete that. He did another version of that yesterday. It's not wrong per se, but I'm personally getting stricter about only allowing music gear on the site.

So I'm seeing the star rating bug on my page too, and it's definitely being tracked.

In fact, we're going to make some larger changes to the site soon, mostly in the attempt at making the site the same no matter what device you're on.

However, right after that we want to redo the personal pages. What would you guys like to see? What features should we introduces, and which ones should we eliminate? Would love your feedback!

This is a good discussion, and we are planning to completely redesign people's Equipboard pages in the very near future. I was thinking instead of having predetemined category headings, one way to sovle this might be to let people create and label their own collections.

So for example, I could make a collection for my guitar rig that includes guitars, amps, and effects pedals. Or I could make studio collection that includes audio interfaces, mics, software, etc.

What do you all think of that idea? Would that work?

Thanks so much for the kind words! It’s humbling when we hear praise like this, and we’re really grateful.

Your understanding is correct. When someone clicks through to a retailer and purchases something, we get a small percentage of the sale (and it doesn’t cost the purchaser any additional money). This is true of most, but not all, of the links on Equipboard, but we’re more concerned about linking off to the correct place. That’s something I’m literally working on at this moment and hopefully gets significantly improved very soon.
