Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!
Hey guys, We are still iterating toward a more open system and toward the ideal, but in the meantime, we just enabled Mods to edit images on item pages. And just to reiterate, mod sounds super official, but we have and we're continuing to change the system, so in reality right now it is just the permission to change photos on items. Nothing formal. Anyway, we've made some of the more active members mods so they can immediately start changing item photos. Progress!

Anyone seen this yet? I've heard really good things.

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!
You guys have some really good ideas, and I generally agree with everything. I would be happy to make you both mods, but I think you'd find it doesn't really expand what you're currently able to do on the site that much. Long story short, our mod permissions are a relic from when submitted items had to be approved before they would be shown on a artist page. We need to completely change the structure and mod permissions we have, which we will work on next.
Right now, we're working on creating brand pages (any wants, advice, feedback welcome here). We will then move on to this project next. ETA next week. Cool?

No offense taken! In fact, always love the feedback. Especially so if it's coming from someone whose opinion I respect (count yourself in that camp).
That's a bummer you didn't like it. You're right, the guides are generally written for beginners/intermediate players, and they are written by different people since we don't all have experience with every pedal/musical piece of gear of out there. Having saud that, if there is misinformation in the article we definitely need to correct it asap. Do you have time to send me your notes on it? You can email me (michael at equipboard) if it's easier.
Thanks, Jim!

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!
Deleted.
Here's the item proof you put for Fire. Just wanted you to have a record of it since it got deleted with the artist profile.
Gibson RD Standard Exclusive Electric Guitar Fire, the dreaded lead guitarist and Nameless Ghoul of Ghost, has been known to play Gibson guitars over the years, He has been spotted with Gibson SG's along with his mate, Aether, the rhythm guitarist of Ghost.
In this interview, both Fire and Aether discuss their uses of the Gibson RD series guitars. The most appealing aspect about the guitar is the shape, which they describe as a hybrid of the Explorer and Firebird shapes.
Fire's guitar comes in white, features his symbol on the pickguard, and has a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers with a split-coil switch.

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!
Hope everyone is having a good Friday. I just wanted to update you on a new feature.
You can now edit the bands/groups associated with an artist by clicking "Edit Artist Details."
A few notes:
Editing bands requires 300 Gear IQ.
Before you go on an all night bender celebrating this new feature, currently you can only add bands already on Equipboard. Next, we will work on an efficient way to add bands, so that is coming soon!
Thanks, everyone!

I agree. We do need to deal with duplicates in a better way.
Unfortunately, there were not always categories....

Best Songs Played on a Telecaster
I would second the "Dragon". Here's a great article on the full history of it, and the Stairway to Heaven recording.

Runner up for me would be Keef's. He gets bonus points because he also knows how to use it as a weapon.
Also, check out this article.

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!
Hey guys,
Quick update on some minor improvements that we just released.
- We made the forums mobile friendly (We figure this will double Jim's output on Equipboard, and halve his output at work. The more we can benefit from that human encyclopedia of gear and tone, the better.)
- We added a forum link to the mobile slide-out menu so it is easier to get to the forum from other areas on the site.
In other news, thanks for the feedback on the priority list. Sounds like bands should be at the top of that list, so we'll get started on it.
More to come!

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to get an overall consensus on what is the most important things that need to be improved, so combed through this long thread. Thanks so much for all the input, and we’ll work on making it better. In that spirit, I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on prioritizing the most important issues, so here’s a breakdown of roughly what I’ve heard so far, in order of frequency of appearance. I’ve also limited this to the top 10 suggested improvements since I want to avoid just regurgitating this thread. I’d love to hear from you all what if this top 10 list looks right.
- Removing items from boards. As humans, we make mistakes, and it would be cool if there was a process to remove incorrect submissions completely rather than editing.
- Editing bands. There should be a way to completely edit an artists’ association with a band, add new bands, and edit photos and links on the band page.
- Item categories like those on community made pages should also be on our individual pages (eg. michael’s board would have guitars, amps, etc. as categories)
- Allow more gear photos to be added to your boards. The 3 photo limit would be removed.
- There should be a way to merge duplicate artist pages.
- There should be a way to merge duplicate items.
- Add more categorization to items, but keep the overall structure. I’ll call this the Fender Telecaster problem. That is, it matters what year and model the guitar is, but not necessarily color.
- Better sorting for the product search and category pages. People want to be able to sort by relevant specifications, price, etc.
- Drag and drop for the order of things on your own page.
- Mobile app.
If that looks like an acceptable top 10 list to you guys, we can get working on it. Thanks, everyone! Appreciate your thoughts.

great articles here: is tone in the hands or the gear? When is enough distortion too much?
When I saw the title, I thought "Here we go again." However, I was pleasantly surprised. I generally agree with the author. I think too often people confuse tone with skill, and I don't think this guy made that mistake. His examples are also on point.

Last, First, and Next album purchases
First: It was a tie. Bought Green Day's Dookie and The Offspring's Smash at the same time when my family first got a CD stereo player.
Last: Black Pistol Fire (self-titled)
Next: Not sure. Suggestions?

What style of music do you like and what do you intend to play?
Before you even answer, my opinion is that you can't go wrong with either. Both are legends in their own right.
Have you handled them both? No matter what you decide, it's worth picking them up and playing with both of them.

The forum is awfully deserted for a holiday weekend!
I'm stuck at home now, but will be visiting gchiaren and his wife (they just had twin boys) in the hospital today!

I meant Grohl, who is also a pretty funny guy.
Here's a video the Foo Fighters put out yesterday.

That's awesome! Congrats.
I've never tried the lowball offer approach, but it seems interesting. What do you have to lose?
I'm thinking about trying Greentoe also, but will give the ebay thing a shot on my next purchase.

Great! Keep em coming. I love listening to music people on Equipboard make.
Nice track. Jamming it now.

need a new category for vacuum tubes
Are you thinking it should be a subcategory of Amplifier accessories > parts?

I haven't played one, but I've met the founders a couple times, and they are cool passionate people.

Photos on the Robert Poss page are INCORRECT
Well it sounds like you are certainly in a position to know! Apologies for that, and I'm just honored you found the website.
It looks as if you've already changed the profile picture on the page, so I'll leave that as is.
I will change the SC-1 image immediately.

If not, is there a place to get a virtual copy?
Congrats!
