As requested, I deleted that submission.
I've also added Seamoon as a brand here: https://equipboard.com/brands/seamoon

How can I delete a wrong synth from an artist.
I've deleted it for you. Let me know if you need anything else!

What Gibson Acoustic Guitar model is this?
I'm not an acoustic player, but it looks like a Gibson Songwriter Deluxe EC. The only thing I really see different is it has a J-45 style bridge, but it wouldn't surprise me if Gibson made some like that or he modified. Sorry I don't know an exact model, but hope that helps!

This is step one of many to personalize the site more and more. :)
I'm not sure what the profile avatar issue is. Will look into.

Positive Grid Spark Amp, yay or nay?
They actually reached out to us a few months ago, I was just swamped and didn't respond, so I think I'm probably talking to the right person who handles review units, but thanks. :)

Positive Grid Spark Amp, yay or nay?
I haven't played with one yet. I'll email them and see if they'll lend us one for review.

And Jim knows his stuff. I'm sure his recommendations would be very helpful for your setup.

Hi JH,
That may be because we don't have any information on which monitors the 2 artists you selected use. Which two artists did you choose?

Nailed it. That's a Acoustasonic Strat. https://equipboard.com/items/fender-american-acoustasonic-stratocaster

How can I get the moderators to remove a Pro page I made
No problem. Deleted, as requested. :)
Still making music?
5yabout 5 years ago
No, there is no downside to that. I hope we continue to improve and grow on that front.
However, a question that I have is how can we be more useful beyond that. So if artist usage is one aspect of gear, what are others that Equipboard could do to make an interesting experience out of exploring gear.
I for one head to different places like forums, ecommerce stores, youtube videos, and others when considering a piece of gear because I don't think one single site has nailed all of it yet.

No problem! I don't think it is your fault. We don't exactly make it easy to find...

I think one challenge is I'm speaking to you guys, who both hang out on Equipboard a lot already (thanks for that, by the way). If everyone used Equipboard like you guys, we'd be the biggest site in the world. Problem is, we have about 30,000 people per day on the site, and I think we could really improve the amount that actually do something meaningful on the site as opposed to just reading it. I want to make the site more engaging and useful for people to find the music gear for them, and find a way to be better than the Sweetwater page, TGP/Gearslutz, Reddit, etc.

Okay, cool. So how can we make Equipboard more conducive to that? How do we get tutorials, settings info, recording tips, weird uses, etc?

If you are on an items' page, hit the edit details link and scroll down to the section titled "Item Videos" and put in the video link and press the Add Video button.
Hope that helps!

I really like the Celestial Effects method also.
When you guys are looking for gear to make a certain sound in your head now, how do you go about finding it?

For starters, there needs to more clarity to users that this is not a platform for self-promotion.
I'm curious if this is true. Don't get me wrong, I don't want people creating pro artist pages and filling them with drivel, but what if we just made a place on Equipboard where it is appropriate to do some self promotion? What if gear photos had embedded soundcloud links so you could assign certain tracks to gear photos so that you could hear the specific gear in the photo? I might like that.
I found myself liking the Vox AC4HW from Jim's demo, but I only found it through the forum post he made. It'd be cool if that was featured elsewhere too... maybe.
Anyway, tell me more about the signal chain flow. Right now, I'd have to think about how to technically make it better than just writing it in the caption/notes.
I know we have gear guides like that but they could be living breathing hubs like the freshman labs in art school....
I want more of this. How do we make it happen?

One thing Giulio and I have discussed and plan on heavily using in the future is notes and comments around the similar item functionality. Right now, we don't really have that exposed, but I'm excited to change that. I think that's where the value is.
I'd like to introduce a page that the community can build that will definitively answer the similar items question. I think tags could go a long way here.
Today my Ramble FX Twin Bender V3 arrives, and I'm stoked. I'd love to know in detail what is similar about it versus what differs versus the original Tone Bender. It'd be so cool to have it tagged with circuits, transistors, etc. But right now, there is no hierarchy in the similar items, and they are not as obviously useful as they could be. Soon, we will introduce a hierarchy system, so the more similar the item the more prominently it will be featured.

I think knowing how people use their gear is something Equipboard could do better.
So if there is agreement around this sentiment, how can we do better?
5yover 5 years ago
Okay. I've tried to correct some of those errors.
Here's what I'm thinking. I would love Equipboard to better help people find gear based on their specific needs. To that end, seeing pedalboards that fit my musical tastes would go a long way. For example, I would like to explore what blues-rock players are using, so I may go down that path if we had genre tags.
I think knowing how people use their gear is something Equipboard could do better.

You may have noticed, we now have similarly tagged photos at the bottom of gear photo pages. https://equipboard.com/gear_photos
We also surface photos that get at least two upvotes on the relevant tagged item pages.
Gear photos have been growing in popularity a little, but what can we do to make them even better?
How can we make gear photos more useful?

My vote would be chorus. Get some of that sweet Nirvana grunge tones and it pairs well with distortion/fuzz in my opinion.
5yover 5 years ago
If you like your amp's overdrive and reverb, seems like a distortion would be the most important for grunge. If you like fuzz, you'll probably need one of those. I'd say delay is important too. After that, you might get a wild card for some type of modulation or something? Or does the tuner take that spot?

Unable to remove incorrect brand
No problem. I reverted your recent changes to that item, so the brand should be removed now.
Just to clarify, do we need to add another brand now?
