Albert Hammond Jr

Albert Hammond Jr frequently uses a Fender Stratocaster 1985 Re-Issue as his primary guitar. During The Strokes' performance at the Isle of Wight Festival in 2010, he is seen playing this guitar. Additionally, in a Reverb interview, he shares the story behind acquiring this instrument, highlighting its significance in his collection.

Albert mentions that during the early days of the Strokes he used a Rickenbacker 325 similar to the one John Lennon played in Hamburg. This article also lists a Rickenbacker 3 pickup in his gear list.

My name is Albert Hammond Jr, and this is my signature Strat. There is something about this guitar and how it looks and how it feels that is comforting. The pickups and the neck are the two main factors. So they give you a feel in your hands, and a sound that starts you off on where you want to go. I feel like that, sonically, is what's going to make the unique difference between this Strat and another Strat. So we were building it with the same intensity that I play. I wanted a generation to grab it and just feel the same way I did when I grab it and not even know and just have this amazing guitar. I like the idea that it has pieces of me in it but it's a blank slate for someone else to have their own journey with.

In the live performance video titled "The Strokes - Live at Chicago 2019 (Full Set)" by arcti1 Concerts on YouTube, Albert Hammond Jr. is seen switching from his white Stratocaster to a Fender Classic Series '72 Telecaster Thinline in natural finish at the 47:15 mark. This guitar was used consistently throughout all concerts in 2019.
