This guitar is a great large body acoustic for playing live and recording. It's sound is warm and well defined, but not a classic singer-songwriter guitar, like a Martin. It has a bright sound and a very easy to play thin neck. Highly recommended.

"I'm looking at this beautiful Epiphone," says Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters while playing on a Epiphone Texan 1958 Acoustic Guitar.
According to this Epiphone article, in the late 1960s Jimi Hendrix acquired this Epiphone FT79 acoustic guitar. The guitar has serial #62262, and was built in NY in 1951 (original source here).
The Bonhams auction site has this interesting note about the guitar: "Jimi Hendrix owned this guitar for a three-year period (longer than any other documented Hendrix guitar)..."
