"Yeah! Been working on Eruption!!! I’ve made some real progress!! Only a few more parts to go!! Check it out!!! 🎉🎊👍🏼🤪🔥 @blackstaramps #evhguitars @evhgear"
"To all the Alex Van Halen freaks! I recently picked up a 1980 Tama 6.5x14 Rosewood Mastercraft I’ve been wanting for a long time! It’s great! This is the same brand and model snare that Alex used from Fair Warning to OU812 (TTBOMK)… These records have some of the most beautiful and unique snare tones to my ears! It is a sound that actually enriches my life! Of course it is how Alex tunes and hits, and also how it’s miked, eq’ed and mixed etc... but it has to start somewhere. I had to find out for myself. It has great depth, snare clarity and a serious throat, honk and bonk to it! And they don’t make ‘em anymore!
Using a Remo Emp X and Canopus wide strainer.
I played similar grooves to “I’ll Wait”, “Drop Dead Legs” and “Mean Street” and the second clip is a little bit of “Hot For Teacher”. I can’t wait to record this snare! 🥁👍🏼💥🔥

"A few more kick ass snares! 🥁👍🏼 - 6.5x14 Drum Paradise Black Brass “Hit Maker” (I’ve used as a timbale for many years and just put bottom head on. Sounds great! Anyone know of this drum?)"

"Vinnie Paul’s Pearl signature snare he sent me back in 2006. This one was badly scorched in the fire I had in 2019. I was never going to play it. I just had it out for show as it was such a thoughtful gift from him!
I knew Vinnie since ‘92, met him as a fan, and absolutely loved everything about his drumming and Pantera! He was my fave metal drummer. His groove was deep and thick. He was precise, consistent, made up great parts and kept all that together live every night, every tour, every year, no matter what!
I have many great memories of all the times we hung out. Man, 2 stand out. I had two back to back gigs in Vegas with 2 separate bands. My hardware got thrown in band #2’s trailer and I didn’t realize it until I pulled into Vegas w my drums, but no hardware! How did I miss that? I don’t know! I texted Vinnie. He gave me his address and said to go to his place. He wasn’t home, but his bud Bridog, who I did not yet know was there. Vinnie updated him on the issue, and Vinnie told me to go into his bedroom and take apart his kit and take what I wanted! Come on! How nice is that!!
The last time we saw each other he came to a Moby Dicks show and we went back to his place at like 3am and had an Air Hockey battle! And there is the time I rode on he and Dime’s bus during the Ozzfest. Worst hangover ever…. Woke up on the front lounge floor, AC cranked, freezing, lost my phone, they found in two weeks later behind some bread in a cupboard… haha…. Ok, that’s 3 stories but who’s counting…! Oh and him coming to Foreigner and taking me out drinking after. And driving 8 hours in a limo to see Billy Idol, and I turn around and he’s there playing my floor toms! Didn’t know he was coming! Haha …
Anyone who knew Vince misses him! Such a great guy! And if ya haven’t, go listen to “Becoming” for one of the most unique and inventive double kick grooves ever! 🥁👍🏼💪🏼
RIP VINCE! ❤️ This snare brings great memories back. I’ll clean this snare up as best I can…"
"DDrum 6.5x14 Stainless Steel from around 2008. This thing is heavy! Heaviest drum I own! There’s no logo or badge on it. No serial #. Not one bit of info on it at all?? Maybe it was some prototype they sent me. I can’t remember. Tuned it up, it sounds great! 👍🏼🥁"
"Custom 6.5x14, all oak, unfinished (but will be lacquered soon), 44 stave, all @ludwigdrumshq hardware , @canopusdrums 42 strand wire, @remopercussion emperor x snare made by #danhobbs ! This is the first snare he’s ever built! Audio soon! 👍🏼🥁🎉💥🎊⚡️"

"Diggin’ into Don Felder’s awesome One Of These Nights solos! Don Felder rules! I’m proud to have been his drummer off and on since 2016. While I cannot replicate his feel, touch and groove on guitar, it’s certainly fun and challenging to TRY! This iconic solo is chock full of tasty, memorable licks that add a new level of excitement into this super catchy song!
I’m playing my 1980 #gibsonexplorer into a kickass #blackstaramps Fly 3 stack !"
"After having this for a month, I finally headed, tuned and played it. @vintageleedydrums 5x14 from the 60’s Slingerland-owned era. This is a champagne sparkle rewrap but the hardware is all original. Sounds great. These Leedys have a thing about them. 👍🏼🥁 (Video in next post.) @remopercussion emp x @canopusdrums snare wire"

"Got these a couple months ago. Finally getting around to the photos and vids… @vintageleedydrums 60’s Slingerleedy era, 5x14, @remopercussion Emp X on top, Amb on bottom, @canopusdrums 20 strand wire. All the Leedy’s from this era rock. My first snare / first kit ever was one of these. But I’ve never had/ played a chrome one before. It has a little more high end crack to it which is very cool. 🥁👍🏼"
