Eminem's Gear
A Sound On Sound article from October 2010 talks about the recording process for Eminem's 2010 album Recovery. Eminem's recording engineer Mike Strange talks about the vocal mic Eminem prefers to record with in the studio:
" "We have a large live room at Effigy, and we have Em in there with some gobos, and a Sony C800 microphone, going into an Avalon 737 mic pre. It's the microphone that Dre uses, and Em likes it, so he's always used it. In all the years I've worked with him, I don't think we've ever tried another mic. It's a little bit like a guitar player who digs his old Les Paul: you don't take that away from him. We have a few C800 mics, because we tend to burn them up quite quickly. Em has two, I have one, and Luis has two or three. Because it's a fairly modern mic we've never had problems changing from one to another."

On Genius.com, Eminem talks a bit about the production of his track Square Dance. He explains, "I like going on stage to this beat. I don’t even know if people care that much about me producing things. It’s fun for me to make a beat, but it doesn’t give me the same feeling or gratification as rapping. I’m not really tech savvy. I still use an MPC 2000. That’s probably a cardinal sin now in hip hop. Everyone’s onto other things. I just use that because I don’t have time to learn something else. I don’t have the patience."

"We go straight into Pro Tools" Eminems producer is talking about the equipment used to produce Eminem's 2010 album, "Recovery".
"That's Jeff Bass playing guitar on 'Lose Yourself'. I mixed that — I was there from the beginning. We were on the set for the movie [8 Mile] when Marshall did his vocal. He would come in on his lunch break, which was usually 15 minutes long. The vocal that ended up being the final vocal was the first take. He tried to sing it a few other times, but just couldn't beat it because he had some kind of other energy. He was making them wait — he came in and said, 'Okay I gotta do this real quick.' He did it real fast and laid some doubles on it like he usually did. You can hear it's in one of those vox boxes in a trailer — the floor is kind of hollow. But the emotion he put into that particular performance was awesome — we were all like, 'Oh my God!' That guy is super talented, brilliant.
(...) The vocal chain was always an Avalon preamp, Neve 33609 compressor and a Sony C800G tube mic. Earlier with Marshall I used the Neve 1073 preamp and a [Neumann] U47."

On the website article, 11th paragraph states that Em used a Avalon VT-737sp pre-amp on studio.
“Eminem and Dr. Dre both were singing into SKM 5200 handhelds with the ME 5005 capsule, all finished in chrome,” reports Ryan Cecil, Eminem’s monitor engineer. “We bring in the ME 5005 as it is Eminem and Dr. Dre’s preferred microphone.
