Build quality
-
The plastic construction of the Studio3 can creak during movement, and the hinge mechanism lacks precision, leading to an overall non-premium feel.
Source
Features and functionality
-
The Studio3's active noise cancellation, while above average, does not provide total isolation, with a noticeable hiss when enabled, which dissipates over time.
Source -
A potential firmware update is rumored to have reduced the bass and volume on the Studio 3, although this remains unconfirmed by multiple sources.
Source
User experience
-
The ear-pads are shallow, intended for better bass response, but the result doesn't enhance bass impact or fit stability, particularly during exercise.
Source -
Some users who loved the original Beats Studio 1 wired headphones still prefer them over newer models, suggesting a decline in sound quality in later iterations.
Source -
Some users report the bass on the Studio 3 can be inconsistent, sometimes appearing nonexistent and then suddenly improving.

Comparisons
-
Despite the W1 chip's strong connectivity, the Studio3's sound quality and features do not match the competitive offerings at the same price point from brands like Bose and Sony.
Source -
Owners of Beats Studio 3 describe the bass as lacking impact and the mids and highs as muddled, with a preference for Sony or Bose models for better sound quality.
Source -
For those seeking alternatives, headphones like the Grado SR80 and Sennheiser HD 600 are recommended for superior sound quality, especially for open-back options without noise cancelling.
Source -
The Sony WH1000XM5 headphones are frequently mentioned as superior to the Beats Studio 3 in terms of bass and overall sound clarity.
Source -
Bang & Olufsen Beoplay headphones are noted for having significantly better sound quality compared to the Beats Studio 3.
Source

-
The Beats Solo Pro is noted for delivering good sound and noise cancellation, though it may lack comfort according to some users.

Pricey, but a good pair for everyday music enjoyment.
Disclaimer: I did not buy my Beats at full price (got them second hand for £90). Personally, I don't think they're worth the £250 RRP price tag. Beats in general get a lot of hate because the high prices reflect the brand, not necessarily the sound. That said, with active noise cancelling, a very nice aesthetic, boosted bass (which although means I'd probably not use them for actual studio use, despite the name, makes them great for casual music enjoyment), and comfortable over ear fit, I really like them. I'll deal with the dirty looks from fellow audiophiles, for what I got mine for, they're pretty solid.

@joshkerr what's the rechargeable battery for? some kind of noise canceling thing or are they fully powered by a battery? saw u have the TMA-1s also - if you ahd to pick between the two?

It has noise cancelling. I'd pick the TMA's over the beats.

Amazing, but not very durable
I was blown away by the sound quality of these headphones. I have heard a lot of negative stuff about beats being really bass heavy but these were nice, on the other hand they were not very durable and almost broke the the first day when i dropped them...But they are still good headphones.

Powerful Headphones
Probably the best beats headphones on the market right now.You get a lot of accessories and a top-notch traveling case. These destroys any other beats headphones in sound quality. It is a little pricey though but it perfect if you're a bass head like me.

Ideal for DJs: Excellent Sound Isolation and Clarity
I actually use there while DJing; the sound isolation helps me save my hearing when I'm mixing in the club, and the sound comes out crystal clear, not bad!

Just got these, but they seem great...
I saw that Laidback Luke uses this when he produces, so I knew they had to be good. Haven't done much with them yet but they are comfy!
