In this video by EMG Backstage, the guitar tech of Anthrax and Helmet's bassist Frank Bello does a brief rig rundown where he points at that Frank uses a simple rig consisting of only 1 effects pedal, the Tech 21 Sansamp Bass Driver DI pedal.
"A Sansamp is the only pedal we need. That's a Bass Driver DI and so we use that to get a little overdrive; a little blend of what he wants. That just runs straight into the Hartke LH1000" - Frank Bello's Guitar Tech
The Fender Frank Bello signature bass was a signature model made by fender based on Franks aerodyne jazz bass pictured above. This bass is no longer in production. It had a Split coil pickup in the neck position and a single coil in the bridge position.
In this video, Frank talks about his VXL Bass Attack. "The reason why I like this pedal, it's a shape pedal. If you need that, like you're not getting enough out of the amp, plug this in and you can get some good sounds out of it."

Frank Bello, bassist for Anthrax, has used the Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass, notably featuring a scratched "R.I.P. Dimebag" tribute. This customization was a personal homage made the night Dimebag Darrell passed away. The bass was later honored by Fender with a signature model. In a video by Loudwire, Frank Bello of Anthrax is seen playing his signature ESP Frank Bello J-4 bass while demonstrating his favorite bass lines.
The FB-204 is Frank's signature entry level bass. Unlike his other basses this bass does not feature EMG pickups, instead uses ESP pickups. This is the more affordable version of his signature models.
