New Class D junk like most other amps. are going to.

Not a big fan of class D amplification for anything, except car audio.. That Hartke 1000-watt amp. is probably a 1000-watts @ 2 Ohms. 500-watts @ 4-Ohms. and, 250-watts @ 8-Ohms.. All approx.. I had a 3500 Hartke head, which I loved. I also used a Hartke 4X10 XL cabinet for many years. My favorite amp. from Harke is the Kickback 12" 120-watts @ 8-Ohms. For the size of the thing it packs a punch and is so portable. It also has an XLR out in the back of the amp. to plug into a mixing board. It's like a built-in Direct Box.. It's a true 120-watts like it says in front of the amp. itself.. lol go figure! Almost all amplification ads LIE about the true wattage output of their amps nowadays.. I also like Hartke because it's priced right and yes I know it's all made in china which kinda sucks but whata going to do? I like how my 3500 head had a tube pre-amp. it definitely made a warmer tone when just using the tube amp. as a preamp without the solid-state volume control turned up at all. I think I'll stick with Hartke. There's a reason the best of the best bass players use them.. It's not just because of endorsements either. Those great players don't need endorsements, and I doubt they'd use an amplification setup because they're getting paid to use them. They're not going to take a chance on ruining their sound and tone because of an endorsement..

Awesome

Total powerhouse of an amp. Easy to use, get tones. The only slight downside is it’s weight, but then it does have twin 500 watt power stages, so it’s to be expected.

It's a great, hi power amp on it's own. Hartke is top of the line customer service and the front to back cooling is revolutionary for rack gear.

I use it as a 1000 watt power amp and my tone comes from my SansAmp RBI + RPM in series followed by an ISP THETA pedal.
