Gary Lightbody's Guitars
In this live performance of "If There's a Rocket Tie Me To It"Gary's Fender Classic can be seen at 2:13. This is Gary Lightbody's main guitar used when playing electric versions of Snow Patrol songs. In fact, this model pretty much sums up the Snow Patrol sound as one is owned by every guitarist in the band (these guitarists are Gary (rhythm guitarist 1), Nathan Connolly (lead guitarist), Johnny Mcdaid (rhythm guitarist 2), Iain Archer (guest guitarist) and Garret "Jacknife" Lee (producer).
Gary Lightbody always affixes a 'Celt' sticker to every Telecaster he has owned since 2003 onwards. Source (we see a Celt sticker on his tele in the picture and the article states that he 'has the word ‘Celt’ etched on his guitar'). Gary also always uses a black and white guitar strap on his telecasters.
His main tele is a 2004 reissue of the 1972 version, although he owns multiple 'Telecaster Deluxe' models which all look identical.
Gary uses this guitar for acoustic versions
This guitar was used mostly during 2009-2010 time with Snow Patrol. This photo was taken in Copenhagen, Denmark.
In this short video posted by Snow Patrol, Gary used Gibson Hummingbird in Emerald City Guitars.
This guitar was used in the heyday of Snow Patrol, in 2003. This could possibly be the 1996 Fender Telecaster, but there isn't enough info to confirm that.
This photo comes from Snow Patrol's 2007 concert in Bangor, Northern Ireland. In this photo, Lightbody can be seen with Gibson Les Paul Deluxe.
Throughout multiple points during this acoustic live performance (primarily between 0:00 and 11:54) in Switzerland 30/10/2019, Gary Lightbody can be seen playing a seemingly custom made Gibson J-Series Guitar as can be derived from the custom headstock and engravings located on the fretboard.
