This bass was one of his first basses he bought. This was done because Rinus Gerritsen (Golden Earring) and John Entwistle did play on one. He never really used it in his most famous band, Doe Maar, because the bass lacked low end.

He once signed it and sold it for charity. Then later he wanted it back for a project and bought it back from the seller

Ik speel er niet echt bas op, maar ze zijn mooi voor solo's. Dat geeft een zeer specifiek geluid. Dit is een nieuwe en mijn oude is uitgeleend. Ik ben inderdaad een Fender-fan. Ik las eens dat jij zei dat Fender gereedschap maakt, Gibson, Gretsch en Rickenbacker instrumenten en sommige andere merken kunst. Ik ben het daar niet mee eens. Het is misschien wel gereedschap, maar zeer visionair gereedschap. Neem nou die eerste P: zoiets was er gewoon niet.'
