Hugh Harris' Effects Pedals
In the last concerts of The Kooks Hugh Harris has been using the Kemper Profiler Remote Foot Controller as the main setup of his live performances
In this article centering around the tales of The Kooks' guitar technician, Adam Stockdale, one of the photos showcases two Crowther Hot Cake pedals used by the band's lead man, Hugh Harris.
Stockdale says, "We spent quite a lot of time in Denmark Street trying out lots of different boutique pedals. Hugh's quite good at knowing what sound he wants; he just doesn't know what he needs to buy to get there, so that's where I came in. He was like, 'I really want this sound', and I was like, 'Well, try this, this and this', and then we asked the guy in the shop, 'What do you think would do this best?' We pretty much spent the whole day trying everything they had, which I'm sure was quite tedious for the guy in the shop, but we got everything we wanted!"
Stockdales proceeds to give the reason why there were always two Hot Cakes, "So, if he breaks one of those, I can just change it while he's still playing and that saves having to take the whole pedal board away. And if something does go wrong with the overall thing, then you can just flip the line selector."
