Kota Harrington's Gear
Kota Harrington mentioned using Air Music Technology's Xpand!2 in a Facebook post about his music production setup, which includes Ableton, a Novation Ultranova, and a MacBook Pro.
Kota Harrington regularly uses the Novation UltraNova synthesizer during his performances, as seen on his Facebook page.
Kota has had his Prodigy since his show October in Tulsa. Kota uses it for bass and leads, and sometimes even a pedal tone underneath his songs.
Kota's live set up as The Blakstar Experience is small and portable. Harrington uses the Minilab as a MIDI Keyboard and Trigger pad.

kota uses Live 9 Suite's stock resonators, reverb, redux, overdrive, tubes, delays, grain delays, and equalizers as a way to process and create new and interesting sounds. He uses samples from storms, water washing on to lake shores, prepared vocals, and clicking, knocking, and popping noises with his mouth processing it through erosion, redux, grain delays, and reverb meticulously stressing to create the perfect tone.
Harrington's newest synth is the Sequential Circuits Six-Trak which he uses mainly for Pads, Keys, and Soft Leads. Often times processing the SIX-TRAK through stock effects in Ableton to give it the atmosphere he claims that it sometimes lacks.
Harrington uses The Fun Machine as a big pad and also to fill in the spaces as well as lead. "It emulates some of synths I love. Then again synths are based off Organs and can emulate organs, but It's just not as cool or as warm sounding".
Where most musicians in electronic music use knobs just for show Harrington uses the APC40 for tweaking the Grain Delay and Erosion effects on a sample to give it a glitchy sound. As well as triggering the samples and the effects through the performance.
Kota Harrington is known to use the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 audio interface, as evidenced by a user-uploaded photo. He has expressed appreciation for its user-friendly design and portability, reportedly telling a fan at a show, "It's just really easy to use. It's probably the most user-friendly audio interface ever made. Plus, it's portable! So that's another bonus."
Kota Harrington occasionally utilizes the Boss RE-20 Space Echo, particularly when he’s in a nostalgic mood. In these moments, he connects his chosen synth to Ableton, activating external effects to create an echo-laden sound reminiscent of a church ambiance, enhanced by a chorus and stock erosion effect. This setup is captured in a user-uploaded photo on Fbcdn.
Kota Harrington uses the Arturia Analog Lab Software Synthesizer, as evidenced by a user-uploaded photo on Producerspot.
