Mike can be seen in concert with Green Day, and an Ampeg VST-II on the right side of the image. From what is known, it is believed that Mike Dirnt used this amp from approximately September 1993 to May 1996. Based off of available pictures, it was also used in studio on the album "Dookie".

Mike Dirnt on his M-2000's in exclusive interview with Guitar Center, "I use a Mesa/Boogie M-2000 head. I use four of those; actually I use three of those because it has an adjustable blend between tube & solid-state preamps. Half of it is solid state and the other half is tube. So I run one half kind of gritty and the other half really clean. And it allows me to adjust by how hard I play, how much the bass grits out and breaks up."

Mike used these amps from 1997 to 2002, until he switched to Fender.

Used as main amp through 2004 - 2011.

In an interview with Bass Guitar magazine, in late 2004, Mike said: "...I went to Fender HQ in Arizona and they told me, 'You should try these amps.' And I said (lacking enthusiasm), 'Yeah, well...' because I'm at the stage now where I can pretty much afford whatever amp I want to play, right? And I tried them out. It was smokin'! Me and my tech looked at each other and we were like, wow!..."

In the latest Green Day music video for "Meet Me On The Roof", Mike can be seen playing a Gibson EB-0. It is definitely an EB-0 as opposed to an EB-3, hence the lack of a bridge pickup and two nob configuration. There's a very brief but clear shot of it at 1:15.
