Passenger's Gear
Mike discusses using these guitars in this interview.
In this video you can see Passenger with his Gibson J-15 (Sunburst finish). https://www.gibson.com/Guitar/ACCXV8819/J-15-Standard-Walnut/Walnut-Burst
At 1:34 in this music video of the song "Scare Away the Dark", there is clear shot of the Gibson Hummingbird guitar Passenger is playing.
Various photos of Passenger's 2017 world tour (particularly the show in Toronto) show him using a Sennheiser MD 431-II as oppose to his previous tour's AKG D7.
“The hardest thing to mix is a sound where you actually have to hear every single spoken word and phrase, even down to the gasps when an artist catches their breath,” said Kemp. “The AKG D7 reference microphone best highlights the dynamism of Passenger’s vocals with a vocal condenser feel. It also provides the most feedback rejection of any microphone I’ve tried.”
"I think the main thing is that I was using a wonderful acoustic amp – an AER – and they just sound great," Passenger says about his AER amp in this interview. He can be seen playing through the AER Compact Mobile at 0:03 in this video.
In a CBC Music video of Passenger busking on the streets, he frequently uses a Kyser Quick-Change Capo.
“I have had and continue to have a great relationship with AKG,” said Kemp. “Not just for live shows, but for location and ambient recordings as well. I feel so comfortable with AKG products at this point— the reliability and range of products allows me to find just the right fit for each situation—and when I do, I know the products are going to work.”
In a YouTube video titled "Ed Sheeran feat. Passenger - No Diggity / Thrift Shop," Passenger is seen using a Shure SM58 microphone, marking a rare instance of him being filmed with this equipment.
Passenger Uses this microphone to record his vocals during the runaway acoustic sessions.
At the very beginning of the video (0:03), we see the pedal. In fact we can see it in varous busking videos.
Passenger uses this strap on his gigging/busking guitars.
In the first seconds of this video you can spot the Neumann KU100 on the left. This microphone is used to record ambiance sounds on some of the runaway acoustic versions.
As seen in "Let Her Go" backstage scenes in the official video and in many other occasions, Passenger uses this case for his main guitar.
At 14:13 you can see the bodypack
At 28:18 you can see the guitar transmitter on his guitar strap.
