Paul Reynolds
Paul Reynolds' Guitars
Paul Reynolds is seen playing a Gibson Firebird V during live performances, including in the video "A Flock of Seagulls - DNA (Live)" on YouTube.
As can be heard on the track "Over the Border", Paul used a Roland G-808 Guitar, controlling a GR-300 synthesizer, for that distinctive saw wave, layered with hexaphonic distortion. He didn't use this on many songs though. For those wanting to truly match his sound, on this song, this unit is essential.
On VH1 Bands Reunited - A Flock of Seagulls, Paul can be seen playing a black Fender Stratocaster with maple neck.
Paul used to use a yellow Gibson Moderne Electric Guitar at the beginning of the band, over the years he gave the guitar to Mike Score as a gift and Mike used it on occasion.
In this video recorded in 1984 for A Flock Of Seagulls' third studio album, Paul Reynolds uses a black and gold Fender Telecaster on the single from The Story Of A Young Heart, Never Again (The Dancer).
Paul Reynolds is seen playing a 1981 Fender Telecaster Black and Gold in a user-uploaded photo from the "The More You Live, the More You Love" era.
At the beginning of the band A Flock Of Seagulls, Paul had a red Gibson SG that he used to use constantly at the beginning of the band between 1979 and 1981.
Between 2003 and 2004, Paul Reynolds frequently played a black Gibson Les Paul Standard during the band's performances. This is evident from a user-uploaded photo.
Had a bit of trouble tracking this guitar down... but I’m nothing if not relentless! Live ‘82/‘83 appearance on VH1 showcasing the iconic “I RAN” His is red (as seen in the video)but it’s the same make & model.
In this picture Paul is playing a Moderne of some sort. The headstock, pickguard, and control layout don't match any Gibson variant and look the closest to a Ibanez version made in the late 70s.
In a rare TV performance on July 2nd 1983 at 2:10 Paul can be seen playing a Music Man Sabre in a sunburst finish
