"Deluxe Reverb and Ampeg through the 65amps 2x12” cab, loaded with both a Celestion Alnico Blue and a G12H-30 “Anniversary.” The speakers have distinct individual characteristics, allowing for both to be mic’d and brought up separately or together at the console."

"While discovering a ceiling water leak in my basement studio I uncovered this...an EARLY Laney Supergroup 100watt patiently waiting to be restored. One day"

"For Big Hat, I’m not sure what I’ll use live, but probably the 65 Empire. In the studio, I used a nice old Park 75 head for “Delilah.”"

"I also used a blackface Deluxe Reverb; the slide on “Supersonic” was a ’59 double-cut Les Paul Junior through a late-’60s Ampeg Gemini. I played the last part through that amp before it bit the dust – power transformer blew. I had blown the output transformer a few years earlier… and the speaker. That amp’s had a tough life!"

In this Instagram post, Peter Stroud says:

Marshall Studio SV20’s still going strong! My rig with Sheryl Crow since 2021.

One for crank, the other for clean.

The Crank: EL34’s through a mid-70’s Celestion G12M. Mic’d with a vintage Shure Unidyne 545 and sE VR2 ribbon mic.

The Clean: 6L6’s through a blackback Celestion G12H-30. FOH gets signal from a Two Notes Torpedo X with the Blackback IR from Pete Thorn’s Signature Tones Collection. Sounds almost identical to the real blackback in my 112 cabinet and translates better out front.
