Fantastic Speakers!
I purchased a used Avatar 2x12 cab that came loaded with two of these Celestion G12H Anniversary speakers. It wasn't until I began focusing more on tone did I realize what a gift it was to have these in my cabinet. These speakers are described by Celestion as a mix between the vintage style Celestion G12M greenback speakers, typically found in new Vox AC30s and some Marshall cabinets, and Celestion V30, found in Mesa, Orange cabinets. I found that I can pair almost any head with this cabinet and get a great tone out of it. They are responsive and clear, similar to the V30, but have the nice vintage voiced back of the Greenbacks. I have a Mesa 4x12 cab loaded with V30s and I favor this cab over that. The cleans are very chimey like you would expect from a Vox, but does not get shrill when you crank up your gain.

Congrats on discovering the REAL DEAL celestion sound! Okay, really these H magnet RIs aren't a cross between aa G12M and V30, they are a repro of the more efficient and balanced heavy magnet, greenbacks favored by Hendrix and found in 100 watt badged Marshall 4x12 cabs right through the 70s, I think yours has the cloth surround 55hz bass cone (my favorite cone for a ceramic that celestion used)... the V30 is really its own thing. People have written books about the differences between the original celestion models of the 60s and you might want to read about it all! Try pairing one of these with a G12 blue in an open back cab or sell 2 of your V30s from the mesa cab and replace them with 2 of these babies in an X pattern and prepare to hear some serious tone. I've owned pre-rola G12M greenbacks, pre-rola G12S silver ceramics, 70s black backed G12H bass and lead cone speakers, 80s and 90s reissue M greenbacks and also the original mid-80s Marshall branded V30s that were simply labeled "Vintage" with no 30 as well as these reissues of the H magnet and clones. In an affordable price range the WGS reaper is the best I've heard and I currently use one in my fawn ac30 RI. The old blackbacks were really tasty in an oversized marshall 4x12. If you want to go crazy people rave about the Scumback and Weber Legacy H magnet replicas.

I'm super happy with these. I've had this cabinet for a while and it was pretty used before I got it. So these are nice and worn in. And this cabinet was originally wired as a stereo cab, but the switch ended up breaking, so I broke it open and just made it a mono cabinet. When it was broken, it was only running on of the speakers at a time. So after I fixed this issue I fell in love with this cabinet. If I end up deciding to get another 2x12 cabinet, which is highly likely, I'll try something new but I've found that these speakers in this cab have something special. I have my three heads that work great with it, as well as friends who have borrowed it from me and have said nothing but great things (running a PRS Dallas 50 watt paisley head) I could find ya a live video of it if you want! Thanks for the suggestions though!

Smooth but also has Bite!
This is my all-time favorite speaker. It's very smooth, never ice-picky, but also cuts and has bite. It's actually hard to describe, so it begs to be heard. I've tried it with Orange, Fender, Marshall, Blackstar, Freeman, and Soldano and it handles them all like a champ. Sounds lovely in a 1x12 or even better in a 2x12. For a 2x12 I recommend either two G12H30s or mixing it with a single Vintage 30 for more boom.

Same speaker with different magnet. H is the stronger heavier magnet, M is the less strong medium magnet. M produces sweeter tones over the tonal spectrum. The H is a big harsher and much brighter. Allows you to do different things with it.
