Quorthon's Gear
The Equipment: This was really hard to find out but here’s what I got: Quorthon primarily played Ibanez Destroyer I guitars, as well as Gibson Flying Vs or Gibson Les Pauls. Most of his guitars were equipped with DiMarzio Super Distortion pickups, which would result in a very classic metal tone. In terms of amps, I’ve read he uses Marshalls Yamaha and Orange but no specific models are listed.
Quote from https://gearspotting.com/musiciangear/32/: "My old Ibanez Destroyer I is almost impossible to use these days. It has otherwise been on every BATHORY album since 1984 but it has also been heavily abused by yours truthfully..."
I believe Quorthon was mistaken, the Destroyer I was an almost exact copy of the Gibson Explorer. His guitar was actually a Destroyer II manufactured from 1981, it was originally fire red before he painted it black.

Although the exact model year or color is unknown, it is at least a little bit of interesting information
"These days I am using a Gibson Flying-V for both solos and basic tracks. I have always wanted to own one for no other reason than I have always thought they look very cool and feel very right when you play one, but I haven't bought one until just recently. So that's the one I am using these days. I am a sorry sucker for Gibson guitars."

"I still think that the Aria Pro II bass is the best bass ever made."

"However for the NORDLAND session, we used a Gibson Ripper because it has that 70's sound I enjoy very much these days."

In a Tumblr post by user guitarpornography, Quorthon is seen holding a Gibson Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar. The guitar is identifiable as a Custom model by the distinctive inlay on the headstock.
