Terry Kath

Terry used a Fender Stratocaster to record Chicago's first album as well as on multiple performances in the late 60's and early 70's

Terry Kath is seen playing his Les Paul Recording in Tokyo 1972. He can also be seen playing this guitar on one of the posters included in the original "Chicago at Carnegie Hall" LP covers. Terry played a Les Paul Professional. The Professional (also having low impedance pickups) was introduced in 1969; two years before the Les Paul Recording Model, and not to be confused with the Les Paul Pro which was introduced in 1976. The guitar pictured here, however, is a Les Paul recording.

Terry Kath's Fender Telecaster is very recognizable by it's several "Pignose" Amplifier company stickers along with a Chicago Blackhawk's Hockey logo. It features a humbucker in the neck position. He played it on New Year's Rockin' Eve in 1975 as well as many performances and albums throughout his career with Chicago.

Terry Kath used this SG for CTA's first album Chicago Transit Authority 1969. The SG Terry recorded CTA with was a 1963 Standard (not a Custom).
