Tim Smith's Gear
Tim Smith is seen using a 1960 Gibson Les Paul extensively during his performances with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. This guitar is notably featured in several music videos, including "Ballad Of The Mighty I" at the 3:36 mark. The image from Flickr captures Tim with this guitar, supporting its role as his main instrument during this period.
This one, either being some standard or possibly American Standard model was seen with him during Absolute Radio concert, for song "Do The Damage". This is one of his guitars that he takes on tours regularly, but he doesn't play the Tele often as his Les Pauls.
Also, one of his guitars he used for "Chasing Yesterday" tour. In this video, at around 12:00 minute mark, he can be seen playing "In The Heat Of The Moment". This one as P90's, and it looks like 2003 Fender Jazzmaster, made in Japan, considering it is lake placid blue, but we have no proof that this is the exact same model.
"I have a Ratt pedal and an MXR Custom Comp pedal [CSP202]; Boss Reverb [RV-5] and Tremolo pedals [TR-2]; and I use a Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler for a few things just so I don't have 15 other pedals on the board. But the Strymon TimeLine, oh my God. Oh man, it's just unbelievable. It can do so many things. " - excerpt from Ultimate Guitar interview.

"Tim and Sheryl’s guitars incorporate the Fishman Matrix Infinity system. Their guitars have been customized as dual pickup systems, combining an undersaddle bridge transducer with the Fishman Rare Earth magnetic humbucking soundhole pickup. There are individual level controls for each pickup and EQ capability all housed and mounted under the upper lip of the soundhole, with mono output. The magnetic sound of the Rare Earth pickup blends well with the undersaddle transducer with few feedback issues. We’re also using Kaman Acoustic Feedback Busters to block soundholes when needed."
As can be seen in the source photograph Tim Smith is using the Gibson ES-335 Cherry Red Dot Inlay Electric Guitar on stage.
"I run the rig in stereo between one of the new Vox AC30 amps they're coming out with that I had never really played but I just got them brought over and I loved 'em," Tim says, in this interview.
"What I really got into when I started playing with him was getting a Strymon TimeLine, which I had not really heard about," Tim says, in this interview
Along with his Gibson Les Paul Standard, he also brought this guitar on the tour, mostly for the 1st album of NGHFB, but it was also seen in "Chasing Yesterday" tour.
At 5:23 minute mark into this video, he can be seen with the exact guitar, playing "Everybody's On The Run".
Smith used this pedal with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. NGHFB loves Strymon, as Gallagher himself also loves Strymon pedals, mostly TimeLine.
"What I really got into when I started playing with him was getting a Strymon TimeLine, which I had not really heard about. I've been using that for delays and a Strymon El Capistan, which I love."

In this 2008 photo of Smith performing with Peter Stroud, he is visible playing the Gibson B-25.
"My bandmate, Tim Smith, plays a fifties J-45, a recent issue J- 180 12-string and a J-200."

"After auditioning a handful of acoustic guitar preamps, mic pres, DIs and compressors, Sheryl, Tim and I all settled on Chandler Limited LTD-1 Preamp/EQs feeding into the Purple Audio MC77 limiting amplifier."

"The last piece of the puzzle – which makes all the difference – is having independent, onstage monitor amps for the acoustic guitars, so we don’t depend solely on the DI feed in our in-ear monitors. Tim and I are using the Fishman Loudbox Performer acoustic instrument amplifier."
