I bought mine second hand and impressed by the sound. Quite heavy alder body makes it pretty resonant. It's heavy though, it may give you back pain after a few hours on stage. Pups sound ok, a little bassy in my opinion, powerful enough though. I should say this guitar is a steal, you can't find any decent les paul for this price.
