This is well build and quality product, the only down side is the action, GFS guitars really need to work on that.
It's a very heavy guitar just like the original Gibson.
If you like a Les Paul style guitar but also a Floyd rose Bridge guitars for that dives bombs that is a guitar for you, is like 2 in 1.
The stock pups are not to strong for heavy distortion but with right settings on amp and pedals you get there. Personally I prefer on that way because let me go heavy and also get a very nice clean tone.
The only Downside is the action, looses a lot for me on that aspect. To get all notes sound full and clean you need to keep the action quite high.
The trouble is around 15 / 17 frets, where the neck joints the body.
If you like to play on low action guitar, don't buy this but if you enjoy high action or a guitar just for rithym that is a good choice.
Fisrt, before hand, let me said that I'm not go with that thing about the Rename and price of big names, I like to try cheap products
and see if they work, if they work, tha's OK. I don't care about labels. Most of my equipament are from cheap and small manufacters.
I love this guitar, to me fells like a strat on steroids, heavier and more powerfull, got a nice clean sound and great on distortion even with the stock pickups.
The body is similar to strats but in mahogny wood and the neck is the same on the strats.
If you enjoy play the playbility on the strats, you will love this guitar.
We get more power from the Humbuckers pickups, lower action, easy to intonate and adjust the truss rod because (easy acess), the tuners are great too.
Personaly I enjoy play strats but I end up acidentaly change the pick ups selector or turn the volume knob down but with this guitar I fell like I'm playing a strat without that annoying accidental changes and ready to go Heavier to Metal zone if needed.
