Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Caline, CP-24 10-Band EQ Pedal.

Use cases and applications

  • The pedal can function as a pseudo-preamp when paired with an overdrive, providing more tonal control and versatility.

    Source
  • Users find the 10-band preferable for more intricate EQ adjustments across various instruments, beyond just basic tone shaping.

    Source
  • It's commonly used in FX loops to refine high gain metal tones by cutting around 400Hz, reducing low mid muddiness, for a clearer sound.

    Source
  • Some users employ the pedal to refine midrange frequencies on Fender Hot Rod amps, specifically targeting the less appealing mids for better tone shaping.

    Source
  • Placing the EQ after a Big Muff pedal effectively boosts mids and controls high fizziness and low rumble, enhancing the overall sound.

    Source

Build quality

  • Some Caline EQs may suffer from inconsistent slider calibration, affecting the precision of adjustments, particularly in the +/- 6dB to 8dB range.

    Source

Comparisons

  • Joyo 6-band provides up to 18dB boost/cut, more than Caline's 12dB, potentially offering greater impact in tone adjustments.

    Source
  • Joyo 6-band lacks a gain/volume slider, limiting its versatility compared to Caline's full 10-band control.

    Source
  • The Caline CP-24 is often compared to the MXR 10 Band EQ, with some users considering the latter for its 18v headroom and added gain, especially for small tube amps.

    Source

User experience

  • Satisfaction varies with the Caline EQ; some find it reliable with minimal noise, while others find the sliders inconsistent for precise settings.

    Source
  • One user found the pedal particularly useful for identifying and managing problematic frequencies, such as a resonant bump at 125 Hz, which impacted their distortion and compression settings.

    Source
  • A few owners reported initial high-pitched screeching sounds when powering the pedal, which subside after a few seconds.

    Source

Value and pricing

  • Despite the larger size, the Caline often matches or exceeds the price of the Joyo 6-band, offering more bands for similar cost.

    Source

Features and functionality

  • Caline CP-24 has sliders that may not be well-calibrated, with users noting unexpected dB ranges, complicating precise adjustments for some.

    Source
  • Some users mention the dual output feature, which allows for signal splitting into two amps, enabling diverse sound exploration with different amp setups.

    Source
  • It's noted that the pedal's large footprint can be a concern for those with limited pedalboard space, prompting some to recommend smaller 7-band EQ alternatives.

    Source

Mods and upgrades

  • To manage the intense brightness of the LEDs, owners suggest rotating LEDs 180° or using items like duct tape, sharpies, or even changing the CLR value to dim them.

Not Bad!

Pretty solid for the price. I'm pretty sure it's a clone of the MXR 10-band EQ, if not it's very close. Better build quality than your typical off-brand pedal. Will definitely do the job to sculpt your tone on the cheap.

Brilliant Cheap EQ

Fantastic super cheap eq pedal. I had a problem with low frequencies on my bass and this pedal fixed them perfectly, really can’t complain at this price point. Highly recommend

Not terrible for how cheap it is.

Pretty handy. I use it to clean up my Les Paul, give it a thinner brighter voicing. It' has a relativity subtle range so you can dial things in pretty well. My only complaint is that if your not careful it can sound a little artificial/digital.
