I watched it today. It is my third favorite star wars film.

The scene with the thing and those guys and they re all "WeeeeEEEEOOOOOOh! Cushaw Cushaw!" .... Brilliant.

Should have been louder and the film revealed things that I would have preferred were left as a big reveal in the next films like Vader being Lukes dad.

If he's Cornell's brother, the term is "Guitard" as it only offends people who willingly make the choice of being a guitar player :D

Shearer really is a great bassist. He plays upright and 6 string. The guys you see in the Spinal Tap movie, though actors, are ACTUALLY PLAYING those instruments and parts on their own. They do tours still as Spinal Tap live.

One of my favorite movies, especially by that director, is "A Mighty Wind". They sing, play banjos and such. They are super talented guys.

20. Me baby, me. I love myself. Im super critical of everything I do but I like to brag that I can out play the majority of bassists on this planet. I can't outplay... well... maybe anyone on here.... accept Steve Harris maybe because of his horrible timing, but the majority of bassists suck. They learn one style, one genre, and usually stay in the easy, shallow end of the pool. The only reason I became as diverse as I am was due to competition. I am very competitive and anytime I heard "Oh man, so-and-so is such a bad-ass bassist. He can play Hysteria by muse".... I went home, learned that song in 10 minutes, and felt like I took that guys power from him. I am going through a mo-town/funk phase now. My goal is to have fun, but also learn major and important pieces of every genre. I want to be the guy that not only can play for anyone, anywhere, but I also want my own style to evolve and grow. My biggest frustrations are guitarists who take up bass playing "Because it's easy" and bassists who play simple, 4/4, quarternote music. These usually go hand in hand. A guitarist is going to place the importance of a song on the guitar. A good bassist knows the roles of everyone in the band. We need to work with the drums "guitar and vocals dont", we need to know the harmonies of the vocals "Drums dont", and we need to know the guitar parts. We can make the guitar look like a shooting star or walk all over him.

I use this analogy to explain where GROOVE and dancability comes from.

A band is a sonic Tank.

The Drums are the wheels and engine. They determine the speed and horsepower.

The Guitars are the machine guns and flame throwers. They are the secondary lethal force of the machine and the second most likely remembered part of the tank by the audience.

The Vocals, if any, are the main Gun. EVERYONE listens out for the vocals. For the uneducated and unmusical masses, the voice is the single most important part of music and any song without it is garbage. The vocals are what really separate one tank from another.

The Bass... The Armor. The bass decided how big the tank is, how much damage it can handle, and how well the other parts work with each other. The armor has to be solid. Without it, the tank is just artillery. How the armor is made, what shape it is molded into, what color it is, and how it is pieced together reshapes the entire tank. A Tank/Band with a weak bass is like a Sherman tank compared to a band/tank like a Tiger. If the armor doesn't hold up the tank is useless. Doesn't matter how fast it is, how big of a main gun it has, the size of crew, or horsepower.... a tank without Armor is a sitting duck. Can it be done... yeah.... but noone wants to sit on a treadmill with a gun on top of it.

yeah, but you are ignoring the psychological aspect, Boom.... and the villians... brute power is worthless if you are a victim of 2 dimensional characterization.... your story driven motivations will be your undoing

DC has been struggling to catch up to marvel in this department since well, always!

DC has only struggled in the cinematic Universe. Most of Marvel's greatest stories and characters are copies of DC content. DC has taken a bit from Marvel, but it;s mostly the other way around.

Even on a cartoon basis, Justice League trumps the Avengers cartoon. X-Men could be considered the biggest cartoon series for comics, but Marvel is very hit or miss. They throw a box of nails and hope one of them stick. DC is more selective with what they put out. They had a decade of bad movies, but I beieve they have grown from it.

You bargain? Please, do tell, I've only heard of the concept several times over and it strikes me as strange that people do that in America where it seems the idea is impossible and that everything's fixed by retail price and such (discluding sales).

You should always try to bargain/haggle. It's not Wal-Mart, it's a luthier. A handshake, some confidence, and a good conversation can go a long way. Pricing the job over the phone through multiple stores is a good idea before going in.

Heres my blunt and brutal opinion.

Pros:

Great chord progression. Reminded me of Hedwig and the angry inch I liked the first song and "Two Wrongs" because of this. I did not like "Wasted Time".

The lyrics were in an original format. Only band I could think of that did anything close was Mars Volta. Would be interesting to hear you sing a harmony instead of the melody for the "Two Wrongs" song.

Cons:

The guitar track had a lot of slips. I would edit together a few takes together and make it near perfect.

Your voice is a little less soprano than what the song calls for. I would play the song a step or two lower to have it fit your voice better.

Guitar was a little off time. I would add a simple drum track or just play to a metronome click through headphones.

You are wrong sir. People will always make copies of items. Some people will on purpose because THEY want credit for it. Some will do it out of spite because they don't like the picture or whatever from the first. Others will do it out of accident.

A guy I know on a forum has a Carvin he made himself that I plan to buy in February. It's a single/single jazz bass with a MM bucker in between them. Sounds incredible. I told him if he still had it by then, I'd buy it. It's been on the "buy me" list for a year almost now.

Also, my Spector bass, my baby, the bass that ended my bass lust and need to buy more basses... I want to install an 18v battery box on the back. Thing sucks battery hard and the system sounds so powerful on 9v already... cant wait to hear it on 18v.

Wrestling Music. I cannot explain it. Maybe because I was SOOOO into it for so long that I actually quit school to go and try to become the next Kane. I get goose bumps from a lot of the music. I put it on my phone and when I need to get pumped for something, Ill blast the ECW theme, Triple H's old theme, or Goldberg's theme. I just get jacked. I have been known to lift weights to it as well. As a kid, I would spend hours just playing the music in the "create-a-wrestler" sections of games. I think Kurt Angle's first theme was on par with the Rocky Music as far is inspirational and patriotic sounding music.

Otherwise Im not a huge fan. His stuff is usually really boring for a bass player to play and nearly every band and group I've jammed with wants to play one of his songs. I always joke, "Oh good, perfect timing. I needed to use the bathroom"

Well... it's Disney, so prepare to be angered in the theatres. They will go the extra mile to try and seem progressive and inclusive. They flat out said only the CARTOON and the 6 films are cannon now. They can steal the content of the other books now but change and distort it.

I paid 10 bucks for a large Walmart pizza and the ability to watch Jurassic World on VUDU. It felt rushed in the beginning and then they completely pissed me off with the last 35 minutes or so. T-Rex can outrun Jeep in part 1.... T-Rex cannot outrun dumb woman with flare running sideways so she can look at the T-Rex. I call BS.

A cartoon. Yeah, pretty much. Seemed like they were hoping only 6 year olds would watch this and start going ape shit, dancing in the walkways, pretending to be dinosaurs and power rangers during all the fight scenes.

Well... if it turns out to be true and it IS part 5, they claim we would see Ben Aflec AND Christian Bale at the end, both as Batman.
