The 6 part series sharing the same title finished this I thought :) X-Men beat Avengers. No-one in the X-men is a normal human being. 1/3 of the Avengers are.
That being said, assuming the Phoenix Five did not exist, I'll bat it around some more.
X-Men have Omega level mutants on their side. Iceman, Phoenix, Legion, Charles Xavier, Unstoppable Colossus, Franklin Richards, Emma Frost, any variation of clones/children of Scott Summers and Jean Grey.
These characters are beyond powerful. Legion can warp all of reality people. REALITY. Just change history, science, physics, and properties. Some of these are the top telepaths in our galaxy. With concentration and the reasoning to will so, they could wipe the minds of all the Avengers, make them believe they are actually small children, or simply hide the world from them. Phoenix is a world destroyer. What happens when you take control over every water molecule on the planet and freeze it to absolute zero? Iceman destroys the world is what. This is just the X-men, not even all their allies that would help out if the circumstances were right and of course those allies.... many are Omega level as well.
Avengers. They just don't have enough high powered characters to down them all. They would likely try and find a scientific way to take the powers away, but not everyone's powers are the same on the X-Men. You want to take out Professor X's mutant ability? Fine. Let's make it happen. All mutants are without powers, and let's say this somehow didn't effect the Avenger's mutant, Hulk. You have people like Magik and Unstoppable Colossus whose powers are magical in nature. Phoenix is a deity level character. A god. Maybe magical? Avengers' big players are Scarlet Witch (IF she is counted on the Avengers team this time), Hulk, Starbrand, and Dr. Strange.
Dr. Strange = Magik
Starbrand = Legion
Though Franklin Richards never officially joined the X-Men, he was looked after by them for a time. If he was not with his family, he would likely side with the X-Men. Reed Richards is heartless and has been the catalyst for world disaster over and over. I think Franklin would see this and listen to the voice of reason, which would likely be coming from within his mind and voiced by Patrick Stewart.

Anybnody heard the new polyphia album
Sounds alright to me. I'd listen to it if I were on a long car ride, but it wouldn't be an every day music for me.
Kind of sounds like if Animals as Leaders made a soundtrack for Sonic The Hedgehog 2.

That red one is a STEAL. The solid color paint jobs, assuming it's the original, are a little pricier than the burst colors usually. Look like it's in good shape too. Someone needs to buy that thing.

Blue is the complementary color of Orange. A super hot metallic blue. Go Go Goku.

Most of the songs I've heard are like love songs to Lucifer. "You are so pure and beautiful. Such a gift. I think I'm spotting".
Their sales gimmick is Satan, their approach is Taylor Swift.

First rule about musicians. You never touch their stuff without asking.

I bought an album from them when they were Ghost B.C. and couldn't even listen to it all the way through. Boring musicianship. The lyrics come off like a child who wanted to feel powerful wrote them. The girly way they choose to sing the songs... uggh. Just... it's like.... anti-metal.

Rumor has it, he is the drummer for that horrible band Ghost now as well.

The same basses just sound different.... why?
Tone would be due to the wiring used, the quality of the electronics on the preamp, the pickups, the strings used, the type of nut used. When you pay a higher amount for a Fender over a Squire, most of the time it's because they are using better products and in a factory with really strict guidelines. A cheaper instrument can be made in a factory in a 3rd world country, by people that barely know what they are doing, and with materials that are leftovers or were bought on sale for one reason or another. It's not impossible to spend less and get more than the more expensive version, but you have higher chances of consistently getting a better quality when buying the higher end gear.
The feel of the instrument is probably the most changed from a high end model and a low end model. The fret work, the contour of the body and neck, the smoothness of the back of the neck, the balanced weight... all these are vastly improved upon when you pay more money usually.

You are correct in thinking that. The single pickup is thin and weak. The body is so lightweight and small that the reverb is not even an afterthought. I thought it would be cool to have one at one time until I got to play with one. VERY uncomfortable to play because of the body. It's a concept fantasy, not a practical tool.
I dislike all those weird, tiny bodied basses, like Steinbergs or whatever. I'll never buy one for a reasonable price.

I through around the idea of an Ashdown CMT-100 or an Ampeg SVT-CL. I've only played through an Ampeg for like 4 minutes before in a studio and it was with someone elses bass as well, so I can't judge Ampeg. They do have a reputation though and a lot of people I like use them. If I was going to touch the $2000 line though, I think I'd rather get a Mesa Boogie.

How do you kick out a band member?
You would think. Plenty of famous examples of people getting kicked from the band and having their music used to boost the new band.
I would feel the same. If I wrote pieces that were later used for a band that didn't like my attitude or whatever, I would be pissed.

Who DOESN'T work out the knots when listening to Dream Theater? I heard he can finger his board at 4,000,000 RPM's.

When someone calls me that, I always hear "SHO NUFF!" in my head. Took me forever to figure out what that movie was before the days of the internet. They used to play "The Last Dragon" on TNT or TBS a ton when I was a kid.
I'm not well versed on bass amps but because I am very picky with basses, I can pick them apart pretty well. I've played a few but I've only owned a couple. I was planning on buying a 100w Tube Amp so I can experiment with it but... I ended up buying a green screen and lighting rig for my YouTube channel. First 2 ways I plan on using it are planned out and make me gitty like a school girl.

I searched the net a bit for it.
Not a high price tag. It's like $350 buck about or "£269.00" was the actual price I found for it. So it's an entry level bass.
Read some impressions from bassists who have checked it out. They say it has massive neck dive and the split coil humbucker was kind of a joke. Very weak output. It's size is small, making likely intended for kids to play.
This site has the specs for the bass. http://www.richtonemusic.co.uk/products/orange_o_bass_4-string_bass_guitar_orange.asp
I have had 2 Ibanez basses in the same price range that were basses good enough, I wouldn't have gotten rid of them. My Iceman 300CB was comfortable, got people's attention with it's shape and all gold hardware on a tobacco paint shop, and it had decent output. My Ibanez 305DX is my backup bass.... forever. Can be made to sound decent, comfortable to play, lightweight, and has been using the same 9v battery for 2 years now. If I were interested in spending money on a $350 bass, I would look to the land of the rising sun.

The only way I can see a pickup placement costing more is if it's like a Westone sliding pickup bass where you can actually slide the pickup forward and backward on a rail to change it from bridge to neck position and everything in between. http://i53.tinypic.com/sykwpc.jpg
Some other companies made adjustable pup positioning as well. Gibson made some in the 70's where you could slide the pup in ache or so closer to the neck and I've seen someone put a single coil pup on a pivit, like a windshield wiper.
Looking at this photo, it seems the pickup is stationary so that's out. It looks like it was drop in slightly closer to the neck than traditional but different companies play with the sweet spot a bit. I think it's all fluff. They are just trying to add range to their products. I can tell you, I was unimpressed with the Orange Bass amp I tried once, and I would bet I would feel the same for their basses.

Well that does it. Now you have to listen to some Manson and plot your revenge. Kidding.
Often times you can install another browser, a hidden one that doesn't work well with the parenting software. I would suggest getting Tor Browser on there and turn off all the java.

Well.... Deadpool rocked the world. nearly 300 million in 3 weeks and it's already beaten the highest rated X-Men film. DVD sales are said to make this bad boy a Billionaire.
Next up, Batman VS Superman. It's gonna be a good year folks.
Wolverine and Swamp Thing are being given the opportunity to be rated R now, and the animated film "The Killing Joke" has been given the green light to be R if they choose.
Tomorrow, Alamo Drafthouse is showing all their films for 2.29, so Ill be staying the whole day at the theater. I might buy another deadpool ticket just to give them more money.
Have you guys SEEN the final BvS trailer? Batman kicks some major ass in it.

20 fret P bass with a wide string spacing and a high dollar amount "but only due to the Orange decal on the headstock". Looks kind of goofy to me as well in design. Seems like an artcore, coffee shop, flannel kind of bass.
10yover 10 years ago
How do you kick out a band member?
Quick, clean, and professional. Gather the band and say you don't want to continue on with that person. If they say why, you can have each member say why. Easiest way out is to say that the band as a whole wants to go into a different direction. If they throw a fit, murder them and use their skull as a cereal bowl.

Best and worst bass you've played?
I need to figure out how my text got all Godlike
10yover 10 years ago
Some people take the biscuit for being annoying
Pawn Shops have the least experienced people in the world working for them. The most I've ever seem done to check a guitar is plug it in and strum the strings. This USED to be a good thing because they wouldn't know ho wto price instruments and you could find a rare relic for pennies. NOW, they all have the internet to tell them what price to put on it.
It's been a fantasy of mine that I would buy a guitar or something only to find a diamond ring or a hidden family relic inside.

Best and worst bass you've played?
Best is the one I just bought. Atelier Z 4 string with 2 Jazz pups and a MM pup in between them. The neck is so sexy and long yet thin for Japanese hands. The pups are Atelier brand and they sound very strong. I THINK this bass is passive. I haven't opened it up yet, but if it is, it's the first passive bass I have ever really liked the sound of.
Worst bass was the Hadean EB-9705 or something like that.
The neck was built like a staircase and had 3 bumps along it. The bass was a neck-through. The frets were so sharp it cut one of my calluses in twain.
Oh, and I also played a Hofner. Yikes.

Epiphone Sheritan II
SX Short Scale P/J Fretless Bass
I THINK It was a first act. Paid my uncle 20 bucks for it. He said he got it at Walmart. It was a strat shape. Frets were sharp, sounded weak, and all the hardware and such were made out of a thin plastic.

Where are your income taxes going?
If I were to open a recording studio and I had the funds for 5 guitar amps, I would buy
Marshall Super Lead
VOX AC30
Peavey 6505+
Diesel VH4
Kemper - Anything else I needed, I would just download. I can see people wanting a Krankenstein, Roland, Mesa, etc.

What makes a song psychedelic?
Drop the brainwaves with the chemical of your choice, turn up your studio monitors, turn out the lights, and click this link. I actually did a whole lot of drugs with the album on in the background of rooms and houses.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qESwh4TR_KQ
I haven't done drugs beyond the realm of alcohol or nicotine in about 6-7 years now, and I don't plan to do anything of the sort ever again, but I always wanted to have a birthday in a cold and dark room, with a super hi-fi 3-D vinyl setup, and play the Dark Side of the Moon while I drop some X and lay on a thick, shag carpet. I had the place to do it once in Austin, but I just never got around to it. Pretty sure I wont ever now, but I still think back on it.
I was around quite a bit of drugs this weekend for the first time in a long time, and I'm proud of myself for not partaking. I kept debating myself on it, but I just said No lol.

Where are your income taxes going?
I'm in the position that I would prefer the Tube Amp, just to have one and experiment with it.
What all tube amps do ya have?
I would think you would want 2 of your favorite and most used, 1 high wattage, 1 low wattage, and maybe 1 more for good measure. I can't imagine owning 6.

Where are your income taxes going?
Basses that matter? 5 left.
Spector Legend 5
Takamine GE400-GT
Ibanez 305DX
First Act P Bass - This was so cheap that I am okay with doing experiments on it, yet, I've had it for so long I've grown accustomed to it's uses and don't want to just toss it.
Now, Carvin BK50A custom
Atelier Z 4 string
I should be good for a while with what I have. Only other basses that I am curious about for now are Warwicks. I'm still customizing the ones I have too. Spector needs a double battery box installed and routed, Carvin needs a stainless steel nut, and the Atelier is getting a hipshot Xtender.
I still have a Rogue PJ, Rogue Fretless PJ, and an acoustic Washburn bass. I had others but either sold the or they died.

Where are your income taxes going?
Well... I'm getting both. Shot offers for the Carvin AND the Atelier Z. I couldn't talk myself out of the Atelier. It sounded too goo din the videos I have, the neck looks so dang small, and it looks nice. I've been reviewing the company online and it seems people view them in a high respect. The ability to switch between a Jazz sound to a Stingray sound instantly is a plus too.
10yover 10 years ago
They are about to release another album this year and the song I heard, "Lords of Summer" is more crap from their St. Anger/Death Magnetic era. James Hetfield's voice is so bad now. I think Black Album was his perfect voice. Not too thin and whiny, not too overly trying to sound like Christina Aguilara.
10yover 10 years ago
Where are your income taxes going?
It's hard to decide because they are both a steal.
Carvin is tung oiled, 34' scale neck with ebony fret-board and stainless steel frets, 2 Jazz single coil Carvin pickups surround a custom made MusicMan humbucker which was made in Chicago to not have dog ears and to match 19mm string spacing. The bass has matching tung oil pot knobs, a selector switch to select the musicman from paralel, to series, to off. An Aquilar preamp was dropped in. Has a super deep tone for just a 34 scale bass and is a 5 string. I reckon it was about 1300 to make and I'm going to likely get it for $800. Only add-ons I would do would be to make a stainless steel nut to match the frets.
The Atelier is a MIJ jazz bass with the same pickup config from factory. Jazz, MM, Jazz. Has only 4 strings and it being a Japanese bass, the neck will be tiny.... incsy... bitsy.... I love that. The bass sounds great in the private videos I was sent. Owner is more of a slap guy so it's not super clear what tones I will be using will sound like. Add-ons I would like would be a hipshot D-tuner and MAYBE Bring the bridge back an inch to make it 35 inch scale. The bass sells normally for 2,000-2,500. I would be getting it at 1250.
I'm conflicted. I play 5 mostly, but I have been wanting to get a 4 string for certain things. I don't like Jazz basses enough to own a lot, but I do need 1. I've had my eye on that Carvin for 6 months and it still hasn't sold somehow. I love owning instruments few others have, and having a Japanese bass that is kind boutique fulfills my needs in that front, however, having a one of a kind bass made from a kit and customized even further would be cool too. I still have to use $300 on a new computer chair, $200 on a lighting rig for my videos, about $500 on new clothes, and $600 on a cruise ticket that my mom wanted me to take with her at the end of the year. I can make payments on that but I would prefer to knock it out. When it comes to my 4 string with a drop tuner, I was wanting to emulate a Wal bass for the longest time. Find a body from Lakland or G&L that matches a wal and then customize it to sound like one, but I'm not really a TOOL fan anymore and having a bass that sounds just like 1 guy's bass is a bit of a turn off now. I just want a 4 string that has a range of tones so I can play older stuff from funk, to Iron Maiden, to Rush. It's just there for songs that I don't need a 5th string and need to move fast over. I play Maiden and Rush on 5's, but it would be nice if I didn't have to mute that extra string.
I had found a Music Man HH for sale about $1200 off shelf price but it's not as alluring to me as these 2 basses. I nearly sold the Death Bass "Takamine GE400" to a guy in Austin but he wants 50 bucks less than what I want for it. I'm strangely attached to it and there were things I wanted to do with it, but I never play it. My friend said I should just sell it at 750 and use that money for the other basses. Hard times in the first world.

The Napster thing just hit at a bad time in Metallica's life. They just released one of their worst albums, were getting hated on by their own fans for the drastic change in genre, and probably felt really upset with themselves. Napster was just a distracting outlet for them.
