AMT Electronics is a Russian guitar effects and preamp manufacturer based in Omsk, founded by electronic engineer and musician Sergei Marichev. The company traces its roots to 1987, when Marichev and five colleagues established a small outfit called Asia to build guitar effects and electronic drum kits during the early days of private enterprise in the Soviet Union. The venture rebranded to Asia MT in 1991 and adopted the AMT Electronics name in 2001. The company is run by Sergei and his son Yan Marichev.
AMT is best known for the Legend Amps series, a line of single-pedal preamps designed to emulate the voicing of classic amplifiers — models like the B1 (Bogner), M1 (Marshall JCM800), P1 (Peavey 5150), F1 (Fender), and R1 (Rectifier). The series has gone through multiple iterations, including Legend Amps II and Legend Amps III. Beyond preamps, AMT produces the Pangaea line of impulse-response-based cabinet simulators, the Bricks series of compact preamps, power amplifiers, load boxes (Power Eater), and a range of overdrive, distortion, and utility pedals. The company also manufactures power supplies (Fulcrum and SOW series) and studio tools like the Reincarnator DI/ReAmp box and the EgoGig WAV player for backing tracks.
AMT has 61 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Overdrive Effects Pedals, Distortion Effects Pedals, and Guitar Preamp Pedals. Their gear is featured by 36 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock, Metal, and Pop. Notable users include Michael Thompson, Rajan Silva, and Sead Zele Lipovaca. AMT's catalog spans the full price spectrum — from entry-level options to high-end flagships.
