So when we were making [2005’s] 10,000 Fists, a couple of their technicians came to the studio along with [producer] Johnny K and we really developed the amp there in the studio. We were taking what they had already built and expanding upon it, so it was really a combination between a Mesa/Boogie and a Bogner Ecstasy head. Those were two of my favorite heads I was using in the studio a lot. And we tried to get the best of both worlds, combining both tones. It was a great opportunity because we had a lot of smart, talented guys to help develop this and I got a great head out of it.
Mami swithed to using a Bogner head, looks to be an Ecstasy model with white nobs, and cabinat, likely a 4 by 12 inch speakers, for the most recent release and live shows. May be a custom blue color as well. Credit to @ritsusasazaki29 on instagram for the great image of the amp as well as Mami.
"Yeah. For a while when we started doing better for ourselves, I started trying out all these crazy hi-gain amps. I had a Bogner Ecstasy and then I had a Diezel Herbert, an Engl, a Framus. It all sounded good and you're always chasing that sound like you said but nothing really worked like that classic 5150 sound. It's so reliable." - excerpt from Ultimate Guitar interview.
