Eminence Speaker is an American loudspeaker manufacturer based in Eminence, Kentucky. Founded in 1966 by Bob Gault, the company began by producing 18-inch speakers for Ampeg before growing into one of the largest loudspeaker driver manufacturers in the United States. Eminence builds speakers for guitar and bass amplification, professional audio, OEM amp brands, cinema, and car audio, and has long supplied drivers to many well-known amp manufacturers as an OEM partner.
On the guitar and bass side, Eminence is best known for its Patriot, Redcoat, Legend, and Signature series guitar speakers, along with its bass-focused lines. The Patriot Series tends toward American-voiced tones, while the Redcoat Series is voiced for British-style classic amp character, with models such as The Governor, The Wizard, and The Tonker. The Signature Series is developed in collaboration with working musicians — one example being a speaker developed with guitarist Mick Thomson. Eminence also offers dealer-only Pro and Classic Pro lines for PA, sound reinforcement, and touring applications, and has expanded into digital products through Eminence Digital impulse responses.
The company operates from a facility in Kentucky that it has occupied since 1972 and sells direct, through major music retailers, and via a broad OEM channel.
