Critic Reviews

Guitar Pedal X - GPX Blog - GFI System Changes up the Multi-Modulation Game Again with its Synesthesia Dual Channel Modulation Workstation

guitarpedalx.com

The GFI System Synesthesia is a powerful dual-channel modulation workstation that offers an impressive array of 22 algorithms and a sleek design. Its unique multi-vector control system allows for creative sound manipulation, appealing to experimental players. However, the complexity of its interface may overwhelm traditionalists, requiring a learning curve and additional hardware (the $59 Triple Switch) for optimal use. The absence of a built-in tap-tempo feature is also a notable drawback. While it surpasses competitors like the Wampler Terraform in functionality, it demands patience and dedication to master. Overall, the Synesthesia stands out as a revolutionary pedal for those willing to dive deep into its capabilities.

Great range of sounds for price point

So many good sounding effects on here for such a small unit. It's also convenient for using live. What particularly sets this apart from alternatives like the mobius is the ability to stack multiple different mod effects within a preset bank, which opens up loads of possibilities like tremolo into auto wah for example. I agree with some criticism for some of the effects lacking, for example I could see that the phaser isn't "chewy" enough for some people, but it suits me fine. The unit can be a bit of a menu diver but the computer software makes up for it somewhat and that's what I use for making presets.

Amazing do it all modulation pedal

  • Super easy to use, and customise own presets
  • Individual Chorus, Flange, Phase, Vibrato, Tremolo effects are stunning and lush
  • can do dual modulation!

Don’t use MIDI or stereo but know those that do and say its awesome.

The Octave effects are average, there’s a ringmod type artefact that can’t be completely dialled out
