My first guitar, much better than I remember
My first guitar was a 1988 Japanese-made Standard Stratocaster Model 3 of the "No made in Japan" sticker type. Black, with a maple neck and Floyd Rose-licensed Kahler Spyder tremolo system with locking nut. A weird pedigree that was misunderstood at the time. Underrated Epiphone Classic
When I first bought my wine burst Sheraton II Pro in 1991, I just considered it a temporary purchase. It was cheap but of decent quality. I loved the tones. Now I am looking to find it again after all these years.

Nice Marshall Overdrive sounds in a small pedal
I purchased this because I wanted a Marshall overdrive tone, but I didn't like the modeled tones from my BOSS GT-Pro. It is better than the modeled tones. I wouldn't say it's spectacular, but it does the job, and my opinion is not fully formed yet, so my rating could get higher with time. It is small which is nice. I like the bass boost when playing at home on headphones or a small amp, and the mid-gain boost switch alters the mids and treble tone nicely. Good build quality.

This pedal is good., but there are better Boss switches now, such as the FS-7 dual footswitch with non-latching and latching functionality.

Complicated, but versitile
I use the GT Pro for developing patches for each song. The GT-Pro provides the pre-amp and speaker simulator, as well as many of the effects I use. Its weakness is overdrive and distortion tone. For that, I run analog pedals through its three effects loops. I use a DOD Wah in the pre-loop and have overdrive and distortion pedals followed by modulation pedals sitting in a mono in/stereo out loop which sits in the middle of my effects chain between the GT-Pros internal overdrive and modulation pedals.

One of my favorite overdrive tones.
This pedal is a classic overdrive, but while similar to the Tubescreamer, most people seem to prefer the Tubescreamer to the Super Overdrive. I like the TUbscreamer, but I give the edge to the Super Overdrive, purely because of my taste in the tone they produce.

Indestructible.
Very high quality. Works great as an expression pedal for my rackmount effects system, serving as a wah, volume, pitch bend, or any other effect that uses an expression pedal.

Better than I remember
I re-purchased this off Reverb after I restarted playing guitar in earnest. I had an original from 1991 to 1994 or so. It sounds better than the other wah pedals I have played.

Originally considered a mediocre Les Paul, now considered a great player.
The 80's Les Pauls were considered inferior to their vintage elders from the '50s through the '70s. Along with its much-derided Bill Lawrence "circuit board" pickups, my 1989 Standard was always greeted unenthusiastically when I told someone what year it was made, especially right after I bought it. Now both the 80's Les Pauls and the Bill Lawrence pickups are considered solid player quality. Not revered for any historical significance, but just good guitars. Yes, it weighs a ton, but it still looks and sounds great 30 years after I bought it.
