A good sound but not compatible with Windows 10
Pros: Compact rackmount unit, TONS of Boss and other brand pedals, mixed quality amp emulation (some good, some not so good), control of the effects via USB. Cons: Roland didn't bother to update the drivers for Windows 10, so you lose capability of connection to your PC (unless you are comfortable with hacking Win8 drivers and reinstall them every major Windows update)

Complicated, but versitile
I use the GT Pro for developing patches for each song. The GT-Pro provides the pre-amp and speaker simulator, as well as many of the effects I use. Its weakness is overdrive and distortion tone. For that, I run analog pedals through its three effects loops. I use a DOD Wah in the pre-loop and have overdrive and distortion pedals followed by modulation pedals sitting in a mono in/stereo out loop which sits in the middle of my effects chain between the GT-Pros internal overdrive and modulation pedals.

Jerry Horton of Papa Roach points to a Boss GT-Pro at 3:45 in this gear tour.
I’ve just gotten the GT-Pro, and I love that machine. It’s got a really cool preamp, and I’m getting some great sounds out of it. It’s great to have in the studio when you don’t feel like plugging in an amplifier and microphones. It has some incredible effects and great, clean sounds. I’m really enjoying the clean electric guitar.
