Workhorse with more volume than you will ever need
The Hot Rod are a very well known series of Fender amps. Got a very warm and sparkly clean channel and a mean dirty channel. The amp comes with 2 Celestion A Type speakers with a lot of bottom end and clarity. I got it as my first valve amp, after a lot of research, to go with my electric Violin. As I use lots of fuzz pedals for my base sound, a amp with a great sound was a must. The 60W headroom will cover stadium gigs, if you need to. Took me a while to deal a nice sound that works on both channels, but it got there. Only thing that is a bummer, you need a attenuator (or at least a volume knob on the fx loop) to really get the amp singing. The Clean channel works best for me with the knob dialed in 4 or 5 (but I like it at 8), where the breakup begins. It's a wonderful amp, but I really would like that Fender included some built in attenuation.
Preferred Settings + Usage:
Volume 8 (bright switch on) / Treble 8 / Bass 5 / Middle 12 / Reverb 3 / Presence 8 / Gain channel Wide open, controlling the distortion with a volume pedal.

Amazing and responsive
As a violin player, picking guitar gear is tricky. This fuzz works extremely well with my instrument, being capable of a lot type of sounds. You can get from a velcro sputtery tone, or a huge amount of sustain and silky playing. The build quality is top notch, made to last.
