Description
The Boss Nextone Artist is a revolutionary take on guitar amplification, blending the beloved warmth of classic tube amps with modern versatility and convenience. This 80-watt combo amp is a powerhouse, offering the tactile response of four iconic power tube types: 6V6, 6L6, EL84, and EL34. With BOSS's Tube Logic technology, each tube selection re-voices the entire circuit, ensuring authentic sound and feel without the weight and maintenance of traditional tube amps.
Designed for guitarists who crave a dynamic playing experience, the Nextone Artist features dual channels—clean and lead—each with its own level controls to sculpt your sound effortlessly. Whether you're gigging or practicing at home, the power control lets you achieve that cranked-amp tone even at lower volumes. Plus, the onboard effects—delay, tremolo, and reverb—expand your sonic palette right out of the box.

Very good, but not perfect...
This amp is very good at providing a super-clean, fat sound. Very Marshally in the EL-34 mode and very Fendery in the 6L6 & 6V6 tube settings. The EL-84 settings don't sound exactly like a Vox, but it's a nice and workable British sound.
The overdrive section, in my opinion, sounds awful. And even with the Nextone editor for PC & Mac, it's extremely difficult to get something working with it. Because I use pedals to get an overdrive sound, it's not too much of a big deal for me. I just put the volume and gain on the pedal onto 0 so I can use it as a "kill switch". The EQ can be very effective, but it's not as versatile as a Boss GE-7, for example. The headphone output, for whatever reason, gives a more gainy sound than the sound that comes out of the line-out or the speaker.
