Acoustic-Electric Guitars

Eastman AC722CE

Avg price: $2,259.83

I have a 2015 which is different than the 2020+ model in some ways, but it's awesome

Back in 2015 this was made with Engelmann Spruce on EIR, no arm bevel or upper bout soundhole, with less ornamentation on the fretboard, but the other specs are the same. I love mine. Sweet and subtle, modest and deep bottom without boom. wont get loud. great for fingerpicking. i love mine, it sounds so sweet. neck is comfy, not too thick or thin in the profile. nice gloss finish. full scale 25.5". 1.75" at the nut. 12" fretboard radius which is cool. dual action truss. Im very happy with mine and dont plan on selling it ever. With a proper setup and nice low action this cannot be beat at the price point.

Tuners

Korg Sledgehammer Pro

Avg price: $36.24

Works well, can see it just fine

pretty happy with this. snagged it new for $30. fits just fine, and easy to see. different modes like strobe but i dont use them.

Miscellaneous Guitar Parts

Neckup guitar support

Avg price: $64.95

Pretty easy to setup, small and light for travel, will need to be replaced after a year or so though

Takes a minute to get it set right, but then its good to go. will start to slide out of the setting after a year or so though. overall its pretty decent. i will probably look for a different to replace though, as i dont travel or gig. if you do gig and travel this is a decent option though.

Strings

Rich Piano-like strings that last longer than others

Great for adding detail to a darker guitar. Feel good. Last a long time. I like to play on them for a few days before recording with them though, they have a bright sheen when first put on. Overall, they are awesome. I recommend people treat themselves to a set.

Condenser Microphones

Oktava MK-012

Avg price: $199.50

Smooth top, Plump bottom, detail without the intense hifi vibe of most SDC's

I love them. The self noise of 18db is manageable if you can play at a decent volume. More smooth and natural than most sdc's (shure ksm137, rode nt5, se8 etc) that tend to have a piercing top, and tight thinner bottom with a tinny flavor and intense hifi active vibe. These can be had for $130-190 a pop. I really love mine and have tried 10 others, some that were twice as expensive. I like them alot. Soyuz snagged a few of their engineers fro what I hear.

Only giving a 4/5 because there are others out there of a higher quality tier like in the $800+ range. But for the money these are the KING of SDC's if you like smooth and natural that still has detail. The hype is real.

Headphones & In-Ear Monitors

Comfy and sound great

I like how it sounds like the music is set back a bit instead of being right on your ear drum. that helps fight ear fatigue a lot. they are made well and sound great. I mix with them, and find them pretty decently accurate. If your room isn't treated or has some outside noise these can work for you. The hype is real, I love mine.

DAW Software

LINUX friendly! LOVE IT!

The only other DAW i've used is audacity, but I like this. definitely a learning curve as to setting it up and learning a flow and streamlining actions, but the online community is strong for this. Kenny Gioia (reaper mania) on youtube is a massive help. Use this a few times a month, and they always do updates. there are also quite a few free plug ins online. Im happy with it! LINUX friendly!

Audio Interfaces

Solid State Logic SSL 2

Avg price: $175.83

clean and clear, lots of gain on tap

usb class compliant, hardware based direct monitoring = linux friendly! dont know if it has software i dont need it. tone is just loud and clear - the SSL tone. not tubey, but not clinical either. just loud, clean, and clear. i love it. cant find anything i think would be better for solo acoustic fingerstyle atm. im happy with it.

DAW Software

Break the chains of apple and microsoft and come home anon

Get there while you can son.

As far as audio production goes, there are only so many interfaces, DAWs, and plug-ins available for Linux, but I found my way with Reaper and an SSL 2. Very happy!
