The best

There is a reason you see this on so many boards and on so many sites with tons of 5 star reviews- it’s the best. The sustain knob is a nice feature and the ability to tweak things as needed is great. And best of all, for be anyway, a built in humbucker/single coil switch makes changing guitars while recording a breeze. You can buy cheaper compressor pedals, but why mess around? Spend just a bit more and get the best. You won’t regret it!

Expansive

I traded a large painting for this pedal and it’s a deal I’ve never regretted. The range of different reverbs and sounds this thing can do is staggering. It’s almost too much honestly. You could spend months just tinkering with things and never get the same sound twice. If you need a reverb that can truly do everything from light plates to huge expanses of outer space, don’t hesitate!

Preferred Settings + Usage:

I dig the ‘quasar’ preset. If you set it right it takes the end of phrases and adds a beautiful swell to them!

Has transformed my music

Downloading this is probably the single greatest leap my music has taken. I have 20 albums under my belt between my Silent Caesar and Hound Of Durango projects, of which I was the only musician involved. There is no other drum program that compares. I’d used Ujam products for a long time previously and those sound great and have some similar features, but nothing comes close to a real drummer, perfectly recorded, in a real studio. Has taken my music to the next level and the fact that the midi packs are $29 means I can keep adding and expanding my sound. Don’t hesitate.

I love these strings

They come in a handful of different gauges, but I love flatwounds in general and there aren’t a ton of different options readily available. I primarily play metal, but I mix it with a fair amount of clean arpeggios and droning ambience. The first time I used these I was amazed at how smooth they were and how nice they felt to play on. You wouldn’t djent on them, but they’re otherwise more versatile that you’d expect. Give them a try!

Decent reverb

Decent and well built, especially for its cheap price! Well worth a purchase from Amazon or something to mess around with. It’s got a real nice shimmer sound to add a simple swell to the end of notes. It can’t do much, but the one thing it does, it does well. Give it a listen! Not very versatile, but it just might meet your needs.

Unique pedal

I like this pedal, although I don’t play the style of music it’s marketed towards. The echo feature is cool, and another reverb never hurt anyone, but I especially like the Sun mode, which is a nice double track sort of effect. Helps thicken up clean parts. I’ve also used it in conjunction with my boss overdrive and achieved some really nice tones. Worth a look for sure, Keeley never really disappoints!

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Sun mode in particular is great!

The standard

I love this pedal. The standard when it comes to overdrive for a reason. Easy to use and it has a wonderful warm tone. I pretty much always have it on. Adds just a touch of bite to clean playing and does a great job in front of heavier distortion and fuzz pedals coloring and controlling them a bit. You really can’t go wrong here.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

I tend to set everything towards 12 for a great basic overdrive tone

Depends on what you want…

… but I honestly love this pedal. It’s got lots of EQ shaping possibilities and great tone. I roll the distortion back to 12 and this thing still sounds savage, but surprisingly clean. And in my experience, it sits in a mix beautifully. There are other pedals that probably sound “better” when run solo, but we all know that the mix is all-important! Worth a shot, especially if you can get one used and cheap like I did!

Preferred Settings + Usage:

EQ to taste, distortion at 12!

Very solid and versatile pedal

Nice little distortion box! Walrus is awesome, you can pretty much buy from them blindly and know you’ll get something that sounds great. I bought this after seeing a band use it for a song on Sweetwater’s website. Hearing pedals in a band setting is so much more useful than hearing a lone guitarist take a pedal and play tired blues licks, no matter what the effect they’re using. Play to its strengths! I love that walrus tends to let us hear things in full context! This pedal has 5 modes and a lot of tone shaping and blending possibilities. You’re bound to find something you like. Love those soft clock switches they use too!

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Blend 1/2 up gives a great mix combined with a lighter overdrive!

Gold standard

If you’re curious about fuzz, this should probably be the first one you buy. Well, this or any of the other muffs. I dig this one because it fits easily on my board and sounds tremendous. No brainer here!

Preferred Settings + Usage:

I like rolling the tone back to about 9 o’clock and cranking that sustain. Lets those riffs breathe nice and slow and deep.

Wild

If you’re looking for regular, nice, reverbs, buy something else. This thing is wild and highly tweakable. It can go from almost nothing to huge ambient blankets with very little knob adjustment. I’ve had it for a while and still don’t think I’ve truly figured it out. I have another, more traditional, reverb on my board, but this adds a great supplement of unpredictability that I love.

I love this weird keyboard

I guess your impression will depend on what you need this for. Personally, I love it. It’s a keyboard in and of itself and features tons of great sounds from basses, vintage keys, percussion, and much more. And it’s also a midi controller as well! I love the no keys style and it’s all very responsive. Great sequencing options and oscillators too. There’s lots more to it, but even non keyboard pros will find a lot to love here!

Reaper is the best

What I love about reaper is how simple and clean it can be. I see videos and stuff of people using other DAWs and there are so many windows, colors, graphs, and everything else open that I’m astonished they can even get a sense of what’s going on. Reaper is cheap, clean, and simple. And it has a ton of great stuff built into it should you choose to explore. I had never used a DAW previously and while the learning curve was a bit steep, a few YouTube watches and I was up and going. I’ve recorded and produced over 20 albums between my Silent Caesar and Hound Of Durango projects using reaper exclusively and all from the comfort of my bedroom studio. Check out the free version if you doubt me! Awesome stuff.

Love this git!

I picked this up on sale at guitar center for about $250. I went just to walk around and had no intention of buying anything at all, much less another guitar I didn’t really need. After I picked this up and realized I had been joyfully playing it for almost an hour, I figured I had to buy it. I wasn’t even plugged in! The build quality, the finish, neck feel, everything is awesome on this. The body is fairly thin and comfortable, and the pickups sound great. I love how minimal everything is too. No bs, just a great simple guitar. Way better than a 500-600 epiphone LP style if you ask me. If you are in the market for something like that, strongly consider this!!

Solid if unremarkable

Good solid fuzz pedal overall. Mid and classic modes sound great and would be useful to most. Gate is cool, if you like that sputtery kind of fuzz. I like the finish and feel of the pedal. The sliders are a nice touch but I have some yet unfounded concerns about dust and other debris possibly entering the pedal via the small slide cutouts. Overall a good solid fuzz, well priced. Walrus doesn’t really ever misstep, check out some vids and see if it’ll meet your individual needs!

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Classic and mid modes are great in particular.

Great guitar

I picked this up for like $600 at guitar center during a sale. Great purchase! Plays and sounds as good as guitars that cost twice as much. Compare with epiphone and other LP style guitars( solid and semi hollow) that cost the same, the quality of this completely blows them out of the water. Don’t hesitate.
