Review: Audionamix Xtrax Stems 2

musictech.com

Audionamix X-Trax Stems 2 emerges as a notable advancement in audio separation technology, boasting improved processing speed and enhanced fidelity for extracting beats and vocals. The software’s user-friendly interface simplifies the extraction process, allowing users to easily manipulate tracks. However, while the results are significantly better than its predecessor, some audio artifacts remain, particularly with instrumental tracks. This plugin is especially valuable for DJs and remixers, offering a fun way to dissect mixes and learn from professional arrangements. Despite its limitations, X-Trax Stems 2 is a commendable tool for those looking to elevate their music production without breaking the bank.

Audionamix Xtrax Stems 2 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Xtrax Stems 2 offers an intriguing concept with its ability to separate audio stems, and while it shows some improvement from its predecessor, it still struggles with speed and consistency. The new Advanced algorithm enhances the quality of vocal separation and the Separation Balance control provides useful adjustments. However, the app remains slow and can produce unwanted artifacts during processing, making it hit-or-miss depending on the source material. Overall, it's a step forward but leaves much to be desired for serious users looking for reliable performance. Audionamix has room to grow, and we hope future iterations will address these shortcomings.

Audionamix XTRAX Stems 2

soundonsound.com

Audionamix X-Trax Stems 2 enhances its predecessor with improved algorithms and user-friendly controls, notably the innovative Separation Balance feature. This enables real-time adjustments to audio separation without needing to reprocess, making it quicker and easier for users to obtain usable tracks. However, while it simplifies the process, the software still struggles with the limitations of preset-based functionality, which may not meet the needs of users requiring precise control. Additionally, it can't compete with more robust options like DeMIX Pro for complex separations. If you manage expectations, X-Trax Stems 2 can deliver solid results, but it remains a tool with inherent constraints.

Review: Audionamix Xtrax Stems 2 - The Next Step in Track Separation? - DJ TechTools

djtechtools.com

Audionamix X-Trax Stems 2 marks a significant leap in track separation technology, offering cleaner vocal and instrumental extractions thanks to improved machine-learning algorithms. While the software is not flawless—users may still encounter some audio artifacts and overlapping stems—the overall results are much more usable for remixing and mash-ups. The introduction of the Separation Balance tool adds a valuable post-processing feature, allowing real-time adjustments for better clarity. However, while vocal extraction has improved, isolating drums from music remains a challenge. This update is a solid investment for DJs and producers looking to enhance their sampling capabilities, with the promise of future improvements on the horizon.

A quick easy way to remove Vocals & Lead Instruments

It is no suprise that Audionamix leads the market and the technology for separating the components of an audio program, which their flagship product X-Trax Pro 3 does extremely well, but Pro 3 is expensive and only works on Mac OS. ...and their VVC Plug-in (Vocal Volume Control) just didn't cut it. Those of us who are fans have been waiting patiently for 2 years with baited-breath for a Windows-version of Pro 3 (which, lets-face-it, ..ain't gonna happen) ...so it was a nice surprise to see the release of X-Trax Stems 2, which is the next best thing. No it ain't at the level and sophistication of Pro 3, but it is able to do a halfway decent quick-n-dirty separation of the vocals/lead instrument from the drums/percussion from the remainder of the music, although only in .WAV file format. In conjunction with a good DAW, it can help make some interesting and usable backing-tracks for karaoke or even more sophisticated live music performance.
