Build quality
-
Luthite material, used in the body, can emit a persistent smell similar to lighter fluid or shoe polish.

Setup and maintenance
-
Luthite bodies may bend over time; baking at 175°F can temporarily flatten them.
Source -
To check neck issues, look along the strings for parallel frets and ensure the truss rod is functional.
Source -
The Curbow's bridge features a string-through-bridge design, limiting B string gauge to around .140 due to narrow slots.
Source -
Intonation on the B string can be challenging; taper-wound strings are suggested to fit better in the bridge slot.

Five string
Bit of a strange one in the design due to the deep bottom cutaway and the slanted fretboard giving 27 frets at higher strings and 25 lower down. Being a smaller bass, it's very practical for gigs. In all honesty. it fits in with the slap/tapping vibe it should be played with. Easy access to the 25-27 frets with the deep cutaway and the slap switch definitely helps once you hook it up to an amp.

At roughly 49 seconds into into this video posted by Tally Hall, a red Cort Curbow 5-stringed bass can be seen in the background of Bora's home studio. The same bass can be seen being used in Cojum Dip performances, as seen in the "What is Cojum Dip?" video.
In the YouTube video titled "What Is Cojum Dip?" at 2:31, Traf Lewis (portraying the character "Udabn the Feared") can be seen using a 5-string Cort Curbow bass guitar (being borrowed from Bora Karaca). This bass was used for almost all of the concerts that Traf performed with Cojum Dip.
