Holy compression
First and foremost, this thing is hilarious. The facial expressions of the little sausage guy provide hours of in-studio entertainment. As far as actual practicality and usefulness go, you should definitely practice moderation with the Sausage Fattener. Overuse of this aptly named plugin will turn your waveform into a literal sausage and suck all of the dynamics out of your final product. If used carefully, it can add some nice warmth to a synth or bassline, but again, moderation is key.

Great review, spot on. I just got a hilarious image of you in the studio tweaking the Fatness knob for an hour and cracking up at the sausage's expression :P

Dada Life Sausage Fattener Plugin
Here is our first plugin – the Sausage Fattener! People always ask us how we get our greasy sound…here is the answer. Hook up this fat bastard to your favorite DAW (AU and VST on both PC/Mac) and get dirty. The plugin is already used by Tiësto, Kaskade, Diplo, Laidback Luke and others (see below for more).
The Sausage Fattener only has two knobs. But don’t be fooled. With those seemingly simple parameters you can create loads of different sounds. Use the Sausage Fattener on a single channel with moderate settings as a musical compressor. Turn it up and you have a dirty bastard of distortion. But you can also use the plugin on a bus (for example all the drums and the bass) or the whole track as a mastering plugin.
The Sausage Fattener is used by Tiësto, Kaskade, Diplo, Laidback Luke, Chuckie, Sebastian Ingrosso, Dirty South, Hardwell, Angger Dimas, Frank E, Zedd, Lazy Rich, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Marcus Schossow, John Dahlbäck and many other DJ/producers.
There is no RTAS-version available.
Just see what Laidback Luke thinks about our little creation: “Ever since I stepped away from Fruity Loops I was looking for a plugin like this. And you did it. Instantly hooked, and loving it!”
System Requirements:
Operating Systems: Windows (XP SP2,Vista, Windows 7, including native 64-bit version) on Pentium 4 (or equivalent) or higher Mac OS X 10.5 or later (Intel 32/64-bit. Not Universal Binary.)
Plug-in Formats: AudioUnit and VST

Fatten ALL the Sausages
$30 actually went a long way here. I love this plugin for a few reasons: it's only got 3 knobs and is so simple you don't even need presets (which aren't provided anyway), it only costs $30, you can use it on basically anything, and it can do a few different things (compression, distortion, etc). The part that makes it really stand out, however, is the attention to graphical detail. The knobs vibrate when there's sound that is being played through it, and the sausage either smiles or scowls as you turn up the fatness parameter. I highly recommend this plugin for its ease of use and the fact that it has a sausage staring at you.

Not an Endgame fix
There's not much to this effect. It has three knobs, one for "fatness," another for "color," and a gain knob. While some may believe that it can liven up any poor quality mix by simply placing the effect on the master channel, it's far from the truth. It's not one-stop solution to fixing a mix or having a solid master. I like to use it subtly on certain parts of the track and to add punch to drums. Favorite part about the effect however, is when you make the sausage angry. Kills both my ears and my sense of humor.

Two knobs of straight awesome!
I love this! It allows me to add more "character" to my sounds. Sometimes I feel like I'm just missing something small from a sound and I through Sausage Fattener on it and POW! It just feels right :)

meh
this thing is cool, but its highly overrated... adds distortiona and compression and some subtle EQ... the lack of detailed control for the advanced user makes it pretty generic.... it would be cooler if everyone in EDM didn't use it . I tend to sue it on sends to shape delays or reverbs with short tails and that's it.

Fattens up all my sounds.
Fattens up all my sounds.
I know, it's a meme. But I can't help but use this when I'm stumped on making my sounds fatter. I'll try distortion, reverb, EQ, but sometimes all it needs is a turn on the fatness knob and my instrument suddenly fits in the mix as if it was magic.
Worth the price, can completely change your workflow in terms of audio processing.
